What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Did the same with my ultralight strat. I still wish the open crown was straight sided and higher. Maybe if they had taken a little off the brim.

    Repro'd B-29/B-36 Crew Cap

It was not stiff because I used Fabric Acrylic Paint, The bond with the leather was not too good, but the flexibility was there. D.

Now Forming! the Campaign Hat Corps

I have never seen genuine M1883 vents personally, and my best guess is that these are just as likely as any to be accurate. I used a pair on a hat I modified for Worf, ( which I neglected to photograph before I sent it to him.) They're probably the best you can find. I've read that no...

Now Forming! the Campaign Hat Corps

Made this grey hat Worf sent me to convert, which I kept since I sent him one his size, as an M1883. Color is all wrong, and the ribbon is olive drab but I figured I'd finish it for completeness sake. The stitching is by hand since my machine brokedown. It's okay. It's done. dean

Max, you look the part! The hat is, of course, sublimely well done! When my hat budget goes back up I'll contract an M1889 from you! Terrific work as always. dean

BRAVO, Larry! You nailed it! It looks like a vintage specimen, to me! Very well done! My hat production has stalled of late. Sewing machine broke down. Mid-winter blues, too! dean

    Stingy Re-ribbon homemod

Put some 1 1/2" rayon grosgrain on my Bailey stingy. Never really liked the original 1" off-grey it came with. It looks more substantial now, at least to me, since it's a woolie, it needs all the gravitas it can get. I deliberately fashioned a very plain bow, going for no-nonsense...

    Post New Hats Here!

Snagged another woolie for $28.95 shipped off ebay, considered to be 'grey' by the manufacturer,( located in that place that built the Great Wall). Used hot water and fingerwork to switch the center dent pinch to a tear drop, ditched the feather, and am considering a re-ribbon with some rayon...
