The Last of the Birds have Landed.
Mine arrived today. Here it is.
Thank you, Mr. Key. It's absolutely beautiful. Truly the stuff dreams are made of.

I was visited by one Captain Jacobi, today. Poor fellow died on the spot.
Here's what he brought to me.
And one in color:
As I was posting the two above, I saw my fedora and decided to shoot some more. Here is the result.

Lady Day. I've never worked food service, but I know what it means to be busy and harried. You would have loved me as a diner at one of your stations. ;)

Actually, the first time I heard it was while listening to a Tom Lehrer song. lol
And this reminds me of a saying I heard a few years ago; "Those who have the least to say, always say it the loudest." lol

Sorry to have to correct you, but . . . :D
. . . I look at the next generation and, in many cases, see absolute rudeness to the point of being surprised when a child isn't rude, including to their own parents. I compare how I treat people to how other generations did and do, and I see that I...

My mother has had ringing in her ears since shooting rifles in high school (late '40s, early '50s) and during her first pregnancy was told to cut out salt. She's eaten virtually no salt in more than fifty years and her ears still ring. Fortunately, it's very mild and hasn't affected her ability...
Feel sorry for my brother's cats. His last three in order: Stink, Stink II and (current cat) Booger.
My mother has a similar problem: she can't remember names when calling people. Once, while addressing my older sister (her middle child of seven) she listed every last child, her own sisters...
How cute!! We have a tuxedo cat here that we've named Tuxford.
I grew up with cats, and as kids my sibs and I would give each not only a name, but a nickname. . . . Several, actually. For instance, my sister had a cat that she'd named Sparkle. When a cousin had a baby girl and stole the name...
