Perfect proportions! I like the shape of the crown; I'm not seeing a lot of taper, but it still harmonizes with the more modest brim width.

The ribbon makes me think this was intended as a sportier or more casual hat, so the felt was probably left a bit rougher intentionally.

Thanks for the info and advice! I'll try to take photos in natural light. The problem is that often I snap a picture quickly in the morning before I go to work or at night when I get home; the sun hasn't come up yet or has gone down.
