Caveat emptor: Buying hats online is a risky business, even for one with experience, and more so for a first time buyer. Are there no hat shops you can visit?
It would be best to get yourself to a hat shop where you can try on a multitude of hats in various shapes and colors. Keep in mind that color is just as (or even more) important than shape because a bad hat color/skin tone match can make one look like a cadaver.
