Wow Ohairas, you look amazing. A great inspiration, as I gained some of my weight back from the wedding. Man, it comes on fast. I like the idea of the core program tho'. Also, probably very good for people trying to cut out sugar too.
Thanks for the inspiration!
Finally a picture
OK ladies,
I really do like my new haircut, I just don't have a lot of pictures of it. My hairstylist gave me a great cut that can be done modern as well as vintage, I just haven't gotten around to doing the vintage curls on it yet, but I will!
And the only photo I have...
Wow wow wow Kitty T! I love it. What a great room redux. Even with those few pictures I can totally tell what the new.
I love the bottlecap jewelry. Any chance you could do a bracelet of them? I'm not really an earring girl.
Oh Ruby Red Locks, I've missed you so!
I remember when you just bought a pretty dress that you thought would work for you because you were just beginning to show and now, look at you--snuggling with your baby.
And that great name too--Dashiell--it's the third Dashiell under the age of two...
I actually gasped when I saw that horror of a 40s hairdo walking down the runway. And that outfit too. Eek!
Even if you aren't as passionate about 40s vintage as the people on this board, you'd think that she would have possibly seen a movie from that period or thought of oh--a million...
How funny--I was just thinking the same thing about some of my favorites, including Magneto--but isn't planning her wedding/moving/canoodling with her sweetheart, etc?
But I'm glad to hear from GOK--I've missed you, but am happy that things are going well for you!
Oh GoldLeaf congrats congrats! I know how much it means to you and your husband. And I'm so glad that it happened naturally and you didn't have to do any sort of fertility stuff.
Here's to a healthy happy pregnancy and I hope to be so lucky to make a similar announcement in six-eight months...
So last night I dreamed that Jitterbug Doll rollerskated up to me during a flea market and sat in one of the chairs I was buying before she flitted off.
It was sorta like Jitterbug Doll as Sonya Hennings on rollerskates. Rather hilarious!
Clearly, I need to stop spending so much time on...
Cut happened. And I went for it. Short layered bob with bangs. My stylist flat ironed it, so it was really weird and different for me.
I went to see Elvis Costello that night and ended up walking six blocks to my car in the rain, which curled my hair right up. It will take a bit of getting...
Well, I'm going under the scissors today, so send me all of your best hair karma and hope I don't chicken out and only ask for a neat trim....
I really want bangs tho'.... But just not sure if they'll work with my curly frizz-prone hair. Anyone else have curly hair and bangs?
This is a very interesting thread.
It's very easy for us to romantacize a period that we didn't live through, because we don't truly know how it was "back then" no matter how hard we try.
I remember watching that PBS series "1940s House" seeing how just shocking it was for most people...
I remember in the mid-nineties when dark indigo demin was all the rage and all of the jean manufacturers were insisting on having the jeans dry cleaned to make sure they didn't fade.
But I think it's much more realistic to just let them fade, because I *highly* doubt that anyone dry-cleaned...
I too have dyed quite a few slips and sometimes the results are perfect, and sometimes, well, not so perfect. But worth the effort for something that I'll wear under a dress.
I think that dress O'Hairas is gorgeous and I understand your desire to try dying it to a darker color. Is there a way...
