:) that's why I am here. I am an idiot to fashion. Hoping some of you can help me tone it down. Tell me yes or no. It will be a work in progress. djd, that is what I needed to hear. Thank you.
I found this shirt:

Would look great with my Taupe Indy slacks and my Taupe Cargo pants, Alden boots and leather Raider's jacket from Todd's Costumes.
I think the general consensus is that Indy's look was taken from various sources, to include aviators, and two movie characters..Harry Steele from "Secret of the Incas"

and Humphrey Bogart from "Treasure of the Sierra Madre"
thanks all.
The Good: no, I don't wear a fedora, even though I own one. That would definitely put me in costume mode. I too am not that brave (yet). :)
Hey Gang,
I have almost completed my screen accurate Indiana Jones costume. I've fallen in love with the look and at my age, I feel more comfortable in it, but still don't want to walk around in public looking like I am wearing a costume.
I currently wear various makes of a field shirt...
Saw this recently and it caught my eye. A little pricey, but looks like it's worth it. Was hoping someone had one and could post a review:

Yesterday I found some great vintage shirts at a local Salvation Army store.
When I was paying for them, the clerk says "Oh, nice Charlie Sheen shirts. He really made them popular huh? Everybody wants them now" She then went on to say there were more shirts, but someone bought them up...
Agreed. I was going to write a book for Schiffer about 15 years ago about Post war shirts and while doing my research, found that it was because of the Dupont factory burning down, taking the original Rayon formula with it :(
Rayon was never the same.
Brylcreem and Royal Crown in all you need.
First, apply the Brylcreem to get the sheen, then hold it with a thin layer of RC to keep in place.
Brylcreem is perfect for thinning hair.
All I can say is thank God for John Hughes.
When the 80's become nostalgic (it already has for many), John Hughes will be credited for capturing it exactly the way it happened and looked.
No one can do it better than he did.
Happy Days except the first season.
The rest was horrible, especially Potsy.
I think Hollywood does a terrible job portraying the 50's. They end up making everyone look like a caricature.
I don't know how many here are familiar with the original Coney Island Hot Dogs from the midwest, but I am looking for a recipe. I've tried looking online, but there are dozens that don't seem to be close. Most call for tomato paste and I know for a fact, tomato paste (or any tomato product) is...
I lived in Las Vegas for two years and despite their myth of everything goes, they do have laws.
For instance, it is illegal to carry and consume alcohol on the streets. The police just look the other way most of the time, but some still get ticketed, depending on how obnoxious they are and...
We're loaded up with everything, yet I only watch HGTV, DIY and of course Mad Men when it returns next month.
My wife on the other hand lives in front of the tube. If it weren't for her, I'd use the TV as a target.
What I find disturbing is how society has already gone down the path of censoring history.
That is the way things were back then and it is good to see how far we've come. We need things like this to remind us of what not to do. If it's censored, how will next generations know what not to do...
