Would something like that fit in the existing hole in the front of my humidor or would I just have two hygrometers, one for decoration and one for functionality??
It's an analog (dial) hygrometer. I think that's half the problem. It's a small desktop humidor. There's enough room in there for my cigars and the new rectangular humidifier I ordered and that's about it. I wish I could remove the analog hygrometer and replace it with a digital one that would...
I did season the humidor. I've been wondering about some of these bead tubes, as you mentioned. I might have to look into purchasing some of them. I've heard good stuff about them from several different fronts. Just wish there was a place I could get them locally, without having to order them...
I enjoyed that Carlos Torano Exodus so much, I had another one today. Some things are just too good to leave at just once. If it's good enough, it justifies doing it again!!
This is true! What about dipping it in some decent Brandy? I've got some Kammer Williams Pear Brandy and I had to force my way through a really bad tasting Rocky Patel just last night. I should have tried to dip it in the Brandy!!
I was always told that kind of thing was taboo. Actually, I shouldn't use the word always. I was told it was taboo after Bill Clinton decided to use a cigar for activities unbecoming a cigar smoker!!
Evening Gents. Thanks for the advice james. I ordered another, rectangular humidifier for my little humidor, rather than the little, tiny, round one that it came with also!!
Today it's a Carlos Torano Exodus 1959 Toro.
Why does my humidor have such a hard time holding optimum humidity? I have my new box of CAO's in there and the humidity seems to be dropping, ever so slightly, over the past day or so!
It's all good here. It's nice and warm. The temp now is 45-degrees and the way people think here is, if you can still see your golf ball, you can still play. Thank got for fluorescent golf balls.
My cigars are all smoked outside, but are done while bundled up and still shivering!! Right now it's 31-degrees outside and I've got a fire roaring in the wood stove!!
bretron, it was good. Definitely wasn't what I was expecting. It was a nice full-bodied stick. Had a hint of a coffee and cream taste to it! I kinda' like it. I've got one more that I'll enjoy within the next day or so, but all-around it was a good smoke!
I keep eyeing those Gurkha's when I go into my shop. I hear nothing but good about them but haven't tried one yet. At this moment I'm enjoying a Graycliff Avelino Lara 80th. Still freshly into it but it's good so far!! I'm saving my CAO LX2's for some reason. I just got the box, but I want them...
From what I've heard, the only way for me to have a genuine Cuban Cigar is to go to Canada... and even that is illegal, I guess, if I'm caught with one since I'm a United States Citizen! If it wasn't illegal, it'd be nice to head to Calgary and have a nice Cuban, but I don't know if that would...
I can't seem to find anything in the way of a Romeo y Julieta around here to save my life. The Montecristos are few and far between so that's about as good as I can do. How long have you let the RyJ 'age' in your humidor before you decide to enjoy one?
Those Avos are beautiful. Wish we had someplace around here that would do tasting!! All I have is the generalized smoke shops that sell to everyone in the world! Hell, the other day when I went in, it looked like half of the neighboring High School's senior class was standing outside smoking...
