To quote Jim Stark, but in a less dramatic and intense tone:
"You're tearing me apart! You say one thing and you say another and the you all change back again!"... Ah, loved that movie. Might watch it again.
Anyway, yea. Just swinging back and forth between getting my size 58 or getting it...
Well, I tried on the hats at that western shop. Aside from the hats feeling stiff, it was the 58 that had the most comfortable fit. Felt like a nice fit, no hassle bringing it down to that spot I wear my hats at now like it was with a RO 57. Going up a size to a 59 is what I read being the...
At any case, it seems like I can't go wrong with going 58 or 59. I know the brown one will be worn every day. Pretty much every day. The moonstone is only for dressier occasions, which would be up to about 2-4 times a week only being worn for like maybe an hour each time.
Hm... The best advice would be to go a size up then, I take it. I don't mean to beat a dead horse on this. The general consensus on the sizing leans towards going up on size, at least with the Imperial FedIVs.
The Fed IV that you received that was a size 60, how is it now? I specuate the two...
"The Federation is not a 'long oval' shape.
The sizing is irregular as the blocks are pre-decimal, pre-war.
If you generally take size 58, your Fed size would be 59 (measuring 58.5)."
This is the reply I received from Hats Direct.
Thanks, it helps a lot! :D
Hm... I'm pretty sure I'm an RO. There was room in the front and back when I wore the 57 LO hat.
Well, I guess just to be safe, might as well order just the one and see how it works out rather than buying the two I originally had in mind. If it has to be that way...
It was just too much cowboy for me to handle. I did find some hat cleaning products too that would be great for my fedoras, so there's a plus. Saw a trench coat, some nice boots...
Say, you own a FedIV, correct? I do believe I've seen some of your postings somewhere in this thread. Mind if I...
A high school teacher... Never mind the students, but the gorram teacher? Hahaha. Well, a fedora and a pork pie are pretty similar on some features. Just the difference is the crown. At least it was called a top hat like our friend over at Penman Hat Co... he was wearing his Raiders model too.
That's... yea, that guy pretty much was me in Boot Barn. The hat would be more moderately sized (like 4in crown, 2 1/4in brim), shoes would be more faded and my glasses are modern Ray-Bans, but yea... Funny how the style and look has not changed in the slightest. Hahaha.
I think I saw this once...
According to my research, 7 1/8 is a bit tight on me. It felt like I was forcing the hat down to a comfortable spot, and 7 1/4 just went to that comfort spot without a hassle.
There was one exception though, and I did take this into consideration, is the long oval that y'all mentioned. I'm...
I concur! Haha. As for Fillion being Indy... Just wishful thinking. I do urge we don't stray too far away from thread topic for fear it'll be closed!
*ahem* I mean, YES. It seems today that people always mistake a fedora of any size, shape and color to be that of Indiana Jones.... Though I was...
Being called Indiana Jones, Indy, Jr, or even Dr. Jones is not that bad. It's the tone of the "commenter" that is the problem. Someone on the thread mentioned that people today are clueless. I disagree. Just a bit... what's the word I'm looking for... condescending.
Though no matter how playful...
I agree with you on all points, friend. Ford was awesome in his prime, even a little bit in IJ4. Though I can't see anymore Jones adventures after those four.
I remember watching a news clip on getting started with IJ 5. They were all on board for doing one, but the problem was the MacGuffin...
Right, right... I must have gotten it confused with the Penman Raiders brim. 2 7/8 X 2 5/8in. I was wondering why I said 2 5/8 X 2 1/2.
Well, 2 3/4 X 2 1/2 is wide enough for me. The thought of anything bigger scares me (and that's what she said).
And that's why I love him. Though his role as Malcolm Reynolds, to me, says otherwise. Reynolds is a broken man, but will never show it. Who says Jones isn't a bit of a goofball either? Fillion is a goofball and his co-stars will agree with that. However, to this day, Malcolm Reynolds is his...
