Myths of the Golden Era -- Exploded!

Hi, True, there isn't enough time in the ONE YEAR of High School history class to teach much more than the basics now, and they don't bother with the mundane details like the constitution. We weren't taught much about WW2 at ALL in Junior High or High School, but we went absolutely batty for...

    The End of Encylopedia Britannica

Hi Well, read the book "One Second After" by William R. Forstchen and you'll buy paper for your necessary information. Paperbacks don't need batteries, or need an amazon cloud, or... I check prices, my son bought me a Kindle for Xmas and I'm using it, but mainly for the FREE books like the...

    Excessive posting? ... Interesting.....

Hi If you can still find a wind up clock, that's SUPPOSED to mimic the Mother's heart beat and help them sleep better. Our toy poodle spent most of her life in someone's bed. My son's mutt too, only the poor little Great Pyrenees had to actually sleep on the floor. Later

    Black Sheep Hat Works

Hi You can get a Gray and Black Fed IV, but you can't get a Fed IV with a really cool looking peach ribbon. The hat reminds me of the Roughrider hat I have in Bone felt with a copper ribbon. I wear it in the early spring and late summer, when it's cool enough for felt, but still warn out...

    Which Presidents Wore Hats>?

Hi Slight Political comment. I was born in 1961 so I don't remember much about LBJ, most of my reading about him has been Robert Caro's books, so I find I don't like him much. On the other hand, LBJ was comfortable and confident wearing his hats and looked good wearing them. From PICTURES...

    The End of Encylopedia Britannica

Hi Lizzie I'm SURE that I would demand that they take down any reference to my work if they were ms-quoting or misusing it. I use Wikipedia quite a bit, but I'm always a bit skeptical about what I read. later

Horsehide? How to tell the difference between cow, goat and horsehide?

Hi All seriousness aside, I just tried on a US Wings Goatskin jacket, and it's way too light. I might as well own a wind breaker. I emailed and they said I should have gotten Cowhide. Is steer hide any heavier than the cow's? Is this dependent on the manufacturer and each hide. Thanks Mike

    The Great Beer Thread

Hi John That really matches what Grandpa Mike said years ago. He was a fireman on the railroad before Prohibition and said that all of the local towns in Illinois had a brewery back before 1918 and that all of their beer was better that what's available now. He said that the breweries in the...

    The Great Beer Thread

Hi Don I agree sweeter and stronger ales do mellow in a good way over time. Traditionally, the highly hopped ales are only somewhat meant to be highly hopped in flavor. Hops used to be primarily a preservative (stabilizing agent) for beer. I do agree that highly hopped ales lose their hoppy...

    The Great Beer Thread

Hi, Scotch ales aren't sour, but are usually sweet. The one I made was very, very good when bottled and aged 3 months, I made myself wait. Letting it go a year really did improve it. Highly hopped ales are meant to be aged, the hops is a preservative. India Pale Ale was brewed in England and...

    Milan Mania

Hi The colors in my new hat match my earth tone wardrobe. I work in aerospace, where we used to wear white shirt, tie, and no jacket. In around 1995, we went to golf clothes. I don't golf so I ended up with a dozen or so canvas shirts with two button close pockets. I have several in Khaki...

Hi, years ago, I made some Scotch ale and managed to keep two of the bottles for a year. They were MUCH better than the ones I drank "green" at about 3 months. Later

    THE SUNBODY ASSOCIATION

Hi I picked up this hat last week, but noticed that the crease was a hair crooked. Brian re-worked the crease, and added a vent to each side to make those balance again. I really like the way this hat feels and looks. I figure I'll need to discuss a 100% beaver one at some point if I like it...

Hi I only found out what a Milan was last week, now I own one. Hatman Jack in Wichita KS on Douglas street had one on sale for 50% off the $70.00 price tag. I kind of figured that after I tried it on 8 or 9 times, I may as well just keep it. Top view showing the crease: Side view showing...

Hi Take a look at Wyatt Earp in Tombstone, that had might be a good starter on one of those hats. It might not look quite right with your leather jacket though. Just my $0.02.
