    I don't know why - but I thought he'd be somewhere in Yorkshire! :)

ALL REPRO R.A.F. Irvin type jackets

One option would be to wait until July 13th and 14th and head up to RAF Duxford for a day at the air show - it's just up the road from you (so to speak) in Cambridgeshire. There you'd be able to see the Eastman Leather Clothing tent, which stocks the entire range of their website, including the...

New Alexander Leather Roadster too tight?

Nice jacket! And welcome - thanks for posting ... Alas Bullitt, my 2 cents is that, if it feels as though the jacket is wearing you and not the other way 'round, I'd say it's too small. It looks fine on the back and maybe a little snug on the front, but not overly so (and many here like a...

    First Aero purchase!

And so it begins .... :) I hope the jacket is all you hope for. Truly. 'Cos there's nothing quite like your first jacket ... Well done on taking the plunge. Methinks you won't regret it and be asking for your money back! ;)

NEW Alexander Leathers Detroit in Horween Bison - PIC HEAVY

I agree, Thor. And it certainly looks like a tough and hard-wearing jacket to me. I love the grain on the jacket - I've never seen a jacket made in Bison hide before. I notice that Orvis sells a few products made of Bison - but they state that they're unavailable for shipping to customers...

NEW Alexander Leathers Detroit in Horween Bison - PIC HEAVY

I noticed the other week that a fellow Lounger here (with a familiar name) said that he had 5 jackets that he'd never posted photos of here and wouldn't in the future either - and it's little wonder as to why with comments like this. Just as some people post photos of themselves in a jacket and...

what kind of shoes with a leather jacket

Next time, Grayland, check out the lighter brown 550s. They're a light mid-brown and rather suede-like. But ONE coat of the Blundstone conditioner paste fixes that in an instant - it turns them a nice dark brown and the suede finish disappears, leaving you with boots that have just the right hue...

what kind of shoes with a leather jacket

Black or brown #550 Blundstones, every time. Oh, and having discovered the joy of Blundstone boots, I wear a pair of black RM Williams boots with my black suit.

    Coldest Weather I've been in

Holy $hit. Sounds like life in an oven set to Gas Mark 4 !!! You (and all Down Under) have all of my sympathies, Smithy. As you say, there's bugger all you can do about it (besides cold Guinness!) - one can shed only so many clothes without being arrested! Meanwhile, up here, we've enjoyed a...

    Eastman Raf Irvin jacket

Ha!Ha!Ha! From one extreme to another, eh?!?! Over here it's been like living in a fridge freezer compartment .... and I've been following the weather back home in the UK and, my word, for you lot it must be like living in a wind tunnel with a bloke at the top end holding a garden hose ...

    Eastman Raf Irvin jacket

Thanks Smithy - and (having just checked my stash of invoices here!) I've had my '42 Pattern since March of 2009. I had the 1940 Pattern before this one but I traded it in with Gary for this model as I much preferred the brown wool/hide and it was an exact copy of my Doctor's Irvin (he was in...

    Eastman Raf Irvin jacket

It's about to thaw out big-time up here this weekend and it's already milder - no need for two layers of shearling this morning - just the ELC Irvin and a good wool sweater. Mind you, it's still cold enough for my eyelashes to have been sticking to my face on the dog walk this morning - but...

Aero A2 38-1711-P in FQHH after 5 Month

Just seen this thread. C'mon now. What's not to love about that jacket ?!?! It's fantastic :) I'd be over the moon with an A2 that looked and fitted like that. Really. It looks classic to me. Looks great on you, Cole.

    Coldest Weather I've been in

Oh yes, Smithy. What you can't see are my modern thermal leggings under my Eddie Bauer flannel-lined cargo pants. I have a LL Bean River Driver shirt beneath my warmest and favourite pure new wool English-made sweater. And the liners under the A-10s ... toasty. :)

D1 pockets on a B3- Yes or No

I have D-1 pockets on my Aero C-3 (see the cold weather thread - just posted photos of it) - and as you say, Xopher, the zips are hellish on cold wrists. Not recommended if occasional hand-warming is what you may need them for. With hindsight, I really should have opted for pockets as on my ELC...

    Coldest Weather I've been in

I have a "Buff" similar to this, but it's a thin material and good for cool Autumn days only ... I'll look into this though, and hopefully they have a thicker fleece material too. Thanks Aerojoe!

    Coldest Weather I've been in

Yup. It's a balmy -39C with the windchill today .... It's really quite something! Makes one feel alive! The Aero C-3 over the ELC RW B-3 handled it all perfectly on the commute to work. The only cold part was my face - but there's not so much to do about that ... I'm not sure a Burka would go...

My new Alexander Leather Arkansas in seal goat

Just reviewing a few pages of the threads I've missed over the past month ... came across yours Gancho, and I must say well done on the jacket (it's a winner) - and the combo you put together around it. That's a good and individual look you have there, Sir. I like it. Enjoy the jacket!
