For me, 'wifebeater' is a fairly modern term. When I was a kid we called singlets singlets or 'Garbo's'.
Garbo's come in two colors, the 'white garbo' and dark blue, the 'blue garbo'.
These are what the Garbo's (trashmen) wore when they ran from house to house emptying the bins.

Agreed. Clearly an investment return driven strategy. I wonder if it has anything to do with it being easier to raise capital from potential investors if the characters are already well known.

I loved the Munster's cars, but I have always been a fan of the Charles Addams cartoons.
There are a few on ebay at the moment, so you shouldn't have too much trouble.
I'm not sure about dating and styles for the buckles over the years, howver all the ones I have seen look pretty similar.

An early to mid 50's Oyster should fit your budget if you like the look and can live with wind up. Personally I love wind up. Automatic movement and date window seem to be price point drivers. Shop around - part of the fun!
