I am a lucky man! Occasionally Any thoughts on Vita felt? This is my second. I can't tell if the felt is thinner or just doesn't have as much stiffener. Both of mine change shape easily... almost too easily. Wondered if you noticed the same.
Thank you Moon! The Vita-Felt is nice. Don't you have a Strat that is Vita-Felt? I recall a picture. Could be wrong though .... too many nice hats on here to keep track.
Thanks Bob, The store owner said they had been using the hatbox as part of their display for a few months and I was the first to ask if it had a hat in it!
I sell on Ebay often (not hats)... I get messages asking about BIN occasionally but I always turn them down. I tell the buyer if they really want the item they should bid on it. It's the best way , in my opinion, to find out what the item is worth. Let the auction play out. On the other hand...
I found this under a pile of jeans (in it's box) at the back of a vintage clothing store. I saw the box and asked the owner if there was a hat in it? Boy o boy was there ever! Looked unworn to me....I think I was the first to put a crease in it.
I was at an Italian restaurant with my family last night. No hat rack, no open seat next to me to put my hat on, couldn't fit it under the chair I was sitting in. Finally gave it to my wife and she wore it during dinner . Looked real cute on her too... and no laws of etiquette broken!
Here my "new to me" Penny's Marathon. Wide brim and one inch ribbon. I love the dimensions of this hat. Not sure of the age. Has a few moth nibbles here and there but i like 'em! Adds character
Rogera, I have a nice Appleby that I purchased a few years ago. Your liner looks identical to the one I have. On mine, If you look under the sweat and at the bottom of the duplication label it says " Resistol Hats Inc." the Appleby is a very well made hat.... this may explain why!
Thanks Moon... Harv..... Fruno. I appreciate the comments.
This Adam thread is chock full of good info. I think I narrowed the date of my hat down to 1953.
