Westward Ho!
Don't know why, but got bit by the Western look a few yrs ago, now have some
killer boots (10pr,that I can see) and hats to scare the neighbors with...really
need a 100x Bone cowboy hat here in Massachusetts...but, love to slip on a
pair of custom ostrich boots,starched...
I've got a number of hats for trade...some cowboy hats NIB Stetson, Bailey20x and 100x, a few fedoras 7 1/4; looking for 7 3/8 Stratoliner or older OR, Borsa
Allessandria...I'm easy-also have antique accessories for the discriminating
gentleman; spectacles,etc.
hat collection
The quote to remember: "We do now..." Makes one's stomach clench. Best hatter I've known, now AWOL from us New Englanders, had well over 5,000 hats
and at least 4,000 blocks, men's and women's, signed Chanel, Lily Dache,
Schiapparelli-they designed the blocks, and then signed...
New Borsalino
Oh how I looked at that hat, considered Katrina, flipped a coin-congrats-
you got a keeper, and I'm glad it went to a comrade. Next time I'll flip
a fiver...
wet Borsalino
Great Hat- Could you impart what model it is? I'm very surprized at the
lack of discoloration on the ribbon after such a soaking; man, quality tells.
I've always tucked my hat under coat/shirt in rain, now, I'll be brave!!
i'm wit youze guys. A nice woid is maybe lost on dis jamoke. Howevea, if
any body has a nice Borsalino block they can loan to my friend Frankie (Two Toes) Un'Gatz, he can make a nice concrete fedora, using a recipe from the old
country, brought over in the 20's. Guarantee works. Made nice...
breach of contract
As stated by many others, this is against ebay policy, period, and because it is
a legally binding contract, ebay considers this type of action extortion, and does investigate pretty thoroughly-I was the unfortunate victim of a carbon copy scam, and things turned out badly...
hat hair
not so fast-I managed to stick head up *ss and thought I had a great view-
again. Went to my "stylist" today, ( difference between stylist & barber:$25.-)
and when I looked up from the fancy magazine there was a very noticable gap
in the thatch that covers my noggin. She said it's...
hat hair
Ok,Ok,I sorry... if youze guys didn't seem to be an honest bunch I wouln't be
here. As for my wisecrack, mostly due to the fact I have too thick hair at 52
yrs.old-wish it were thinner so I didn't have to fight with it all the time, and no, buzz cut not in future. So-sorry if any...
Great watches:
Very nice selection of the real thing-I'm lucky to have a watchmaker I've done business with for 25 yrs. the new stuff is in the shiny cases out front, but underneath the counter-time in a drawer...all working, all original, and if you want to get a proper band, Gretchen opens...
hathair
makes me wonder if all those really griping have any hair for the hat
to leave a bad impression upon...and then, there's "hat head"...
creases
nice shots, thank you. do you have any advice for someone with a Jiffy
steamer, a few hats, and the need to make good-looking diamond & teardrop
creases? I hear tell there's aids to help without having to own blocks-I want to
do it by hand and not have them look lumpy. any hints?
Manhattan hats
Got an old Manhattan, no sweatband, liner, just a small tag saying
to duplicate 81655- great hat, wonderfully soft, and has the old United Milliners
Caps and Hatters stamp, so I'm guessing 40's? Sharpetoys' off white hat is a
Manhattan? If so, could you tell me if I can get...
Mallory
Great score! For those of us on the right coast, there's the Brimfield Antiques Shows (flea market), next one in September-absolutely huge, and hundreds of dealers in vintage clothing/hats. Google Brimfield.com for dates, I know it runs from a Tuesday-Sat. usually 1st/2nd wk in Sept...
