I'm interested, but like most Americans, only semi-fluent in English; Also, I take a 7 3/8 long oval, usually a 59-60, don't know how the Akubra's fit...can you give me an idea of what the moneys are, and when the auction ends? PM me if
you can. Thanks-ideaguy
My wife's pancakes every Sunday morning, made from scratch, drizzled with maple syrup from a farmer we know, a dollop of creme fraiche (sp?) and
some cut up and macerated seasonal fruit. Butter. Coffee-secret blend, also improves gas mileage. Ice-cold fresh milk-right outta da cow, 2 miles up...
I find the phrase "grammar nazi" quite unsettling. If we are to make our language skills easier to use without feeling pedantic, why introduce an horrific description that could easily offend a fair amount of readers and skew the intention of the grammarian, and bring what amounts to a...
T.E.Lawrence?
That hat says adventure, and for my $ the name is T.E.Lawrence-aka Lawrence
of Arabia, one of British historys' greats, and I think they invented romantic heroes; saving up my money quick for one, no matter what the name-that'll turn enough heads to keep a chiropracter busy...M
Take a look at the paintings of Ralph Goings- terrrific realist painter working
with the counter settings of diners as main subject matter; great handling of old glass salt shakers, peppers, ketchup, etc., one of the finest realists out there, a pure painter without the social commentary. I...
Thanks- it is one of the softest, smoothest felts I've had the privilege of
handling, and Mr. Lucky threw me aces when I won it- light,smooth,soft-just haven't ever heard of Dobbs ONE HUNDRED in OR. Help?
Just won an Open Road, no photos yet (can't mesh computer & camera)-BUT-
hat is very nice quality- says "Dobbs ONE HUNDRED" in gold, with the Dobbs
Stagecoach between words- Dobbs on top, stagcoach in middle, ONE HUNDRED
beneath- really fine felt, soft and pliable enough that just a touch...
nice score, 5 bucks. they look very much like my everyday specs., but mine
are gold, and A/O c. 1915, as far as records show.-you can grab some very
cool glasses on that auction, just have to measure really carefully, and have seller show photo of temple-piece where size is imprinted.
Thanks very much-invaluable help. So, thanks, friend-I'll be the one down cellar with his Jiffy steamer and a couple of old
6 7/8 stretchers, sipping a tumbler of Lexol....
Feltfan-I was quite sure that the topic had been broached before, but not knowing how to track a thread properly on this site, I thought a member would
be so kind as to steer me in the right direction.
Thanks Kevin-just emailed Downunder. Have you seen the Loden color Fed.
hat? It's a toss-up between your carbon grey & the loden-the only color the
Deluxe comes in, but no photo of same. Thanks again! M
Love that new Federation, color is one I'm not finding anywhere else; where
can I look at these/buy one? And if you don't mind me prying into personals,
about how much $$should I plan on spending for the Heritage -oh,just like
yours? Thanks, great hat, was going to stop buying. Really. I...
Gentlemen: I'm always running into great hats that are just a bit small for
me,and I wonder if there's a guideline as to how much a hat can be
stretched safely- I've got a 7 3/8 long oval head, and just found a size 5
Italian Borsalino-21 3/4 circumference. Can it be done, and if not, what...
Great job at finding the Borsalino-makes me want to get back into the
Antiques biz...was a full-time shopper-fun, but risky & hard. As for the
Homburg, BUY IT!! provenance, provenance, provenance! don't let
it slip away, find the mug what owns it and thrust nice cash in his hand, quick,
say...
