Time for lunch at the Dobbs Diner. Here's my "new to me " Dobbs. 3 inch brim with a felted edge. If I understand correctly , the tip label and the embossed "Improved Felt Welt" on the sweat date the hat to the late 1930's.

That's what I'm wondering Jim. I tend to like my old hats and my old cars stock.
That Impala still retains enough of the original visual cues that make an Impala an Impala. I don't think I would have guessed that the OP's Strat was a Strat.
The hat looks fine..... but is it still a Stratoliner? What if you took a Whippet , cut the brim edge off and slapped on a thin ribbon? Would it still be a Whippet?
