So I had a Panther tank in my bedroom once. And an 88mm Flak gun too. But they were just 1/35 scale models by Tamiya.
The German Army have just raided this bloke's house and pulled out the real things from his basement...
I know what you mean, Edward.
I was out with friends the other winter and pulled out my old wallet from the pouch pocket when the bill came - and a peal of laughter erupted at the table - at the sight of my big old wallet. Apparently it was just like George Constanza's from Seinfeld - bulging...
Great photos!!! Thanks for putting them up here.
The jackets and their artworks/patches are always good and interesting to see (look at the strange proportions of that B-29 on The Latest Rumor! But that's how they sometimes were on jackets - and I'm sure nobody noticed or cared at the time...
Oh, I don't know. I read in the UK recently that this Winter is forecast to be a really tough one for you all over there, thanks to El Nino. If so, you'll be glad you got your order in ahead of the rush …!
And the nice thing about a nice vintage N3-B is that they're vintage - and they stand out in that way like the sheepskin jackets, but in their own way. I mean, up here in Winter, everyone wears Canada Goose jackets - or cheap made-in-China knock-off copies, but they're all the same style and...
I agree. I think "Look good, feel better" can be extended to wearing decent gear and I love that … but when it's -35C on a bitterly cold day, even an ANJ-4 will feel …. well, short. To my mind, that's the only trouble with these things. They were designed for their utility in cockpits, so a...
Over the weekend, I was musing about my previous comment - and thinking that, to anyone out there in the wings who's reading this and perhaps they're in the enviable position of choosing their first sheepskin flying jacket jacket for themselves, I was thinking that my comments wouldn't...
Man, that's a brilliant find! It's always a very rare treat to see an original like that.
I must say, it's handy to have a decent Chinese translator around here too! (it reminds me of those girls who get a tattoo of Chinese lettering on themselves and they proudly say "It means Brave" - when it...
I've had my ELC RW B-3 since 2006 or so and have loved it … But if anything ever happened to it (God forbid), I'd go for an ANJ-4 next time.
To me, they look a little less WW2 - perhaps because they were a much more limited run and so never made it in to the public consciousness of "flying...
PS. I was also thinking that you might think "But Stand By - if I put a patch over the decal, it won't cure the problem of still seeing ARMY AIR FORCES beneath it."
True.
But I've seen original A2s that had patches placed over the decal, so all you could see was ARM ………………..CES around the...
Good day, Dude.
I would also strongly recommend that you don't attempt to remove the decal. Consider it non-removable in any practical sense. To get it off, you'd need to use a "hot" solvent like acetone, but it will also remove the finish of the tanned leather and will ultimately leave you with...
And the "Sons of Anarchy" TV show has clearly added to the public interest (chic?) in biker gangs …
But these guys are the real deal - and they scare the bejeezus out of me!
And I wouldn't dare anyone to say that the German helmet looks a bit small on him …

Thank you Hide'N'Seek for deciding to reply and please feel assured that I meant no disrespect to you or your family; I said in my post a while ago (page 104, or thereabouts) that I found this whole saga to be regrettable and I extended my sentiments of sadness to everyone involved - and I was...
I was well aware that I was using an obsolete term from yesteryear and that it may confuse some younger people and I was merely trying to add some clarity to my appeal.
