Thank you, guys! Well, to be honnest, I didn't aim for the most fashionable shirt, only for the one that looked good to me. I found it a bit more "original" than the traditional red/yellow Aloha shirts.
Now, I only have to wait for it to be home, and for the sun to start shining!
Scored this one last week on the bay, my first Aloha shirt. Made in Hawaii, of course! It should arrive in the next days.
Not as colorful or original as some of the shirts seen here, but I kinda loved the pattern and the "subdued" colors.
Hello guys,
I posted this on the VLJ forum, thought some of you might be interested too!
Another discussion made me think I never uploaded the pictures I took last year at Robins AFB's Museum of Aviation. Here's the full photobucket album related to flight gears, meaning not only flight...
BN, the fit looks spot on! The rust knits may be inacurate but, once again, they prove themselves to be a great pairing with dark leather. They are also neatly matching the rust collar.
Do you have any close up pictures of the leather?
I must say I quite love the look of this jacket, except for the red buttons. Looks like something that's been banged up pretty hard, worn as an utilitarian jacket, not a piece of high end clothing.
If you want to go for something a bit more "sporty", I only have good things to say about the Invicta 8926. They are pretty neat Submariner look-a-like, self winding, the mechanism is pretty good and you can swap for nearly every watch band you'd like. Aevig seems to have some pretty nice...
I'm really in love with the jerky HH. It has a wonderful grain, is a bit stiff at first but is already starting to soften up. I've been wearing it for the whole week-end at the airshow in La Ferté Alais, and the jacket is really comfortable. Gained a few nice comments, too!
Had to switch to...
You still have the second option: grow a beard! :-D
@Lord Flashheart , my chest measurements are 41.5' for relaxed chest, 43.5 for expanded chest. My first idea was to go for a 44 jacket, but Holly told me that for a 42-18775, a 42 would fit snugly without being too tight, and she was right! I...
Thanks for the comment, guys!
@Smithy , nope, it's just your regular dark seal jerky horsehide! Didn't want to go on anything "fancy" as I thought it would not match the WW2 contracts.
@Insomnia , this is the only barber shop I've been to, and I'd never want to go anywhere else. The owner's...
Hahaha! As you can tell from the 42 size tag, I'm not even near the guy! But that what's needed when standing at 6'4"!
@nick123 , thanks, even to me the measurements seemed awefully long, but the result is near perfect. Got a very little bit of tunneling, but at least my wrist are not exposed...
@casechopper , it may be a bit wide, yeah. It's not really noticeable while not zipped up, but from what you say, it'd be too lose. On your picture, the most striking thing I see is the sleeve's tunnel effect. It's a bit much, as we can't even see the cuffs.
Hello folks,
Well, after 15 weeks of waiting, I received my A-2 from Aero this Monday. It's been more than 10 years since I wanted an A-2 jacket, but it's been delayed until now mostly for money reason. I'd say this is a good thing, seen I've discovered TFL in the meantime, and learned a LOT of...
