I would suggest Aero would be worth a call as they can tailor a jacket to a ladies' frame (or so I believe), whereas someone like ELC would not.
Good luck on the hunt!
Great photos Butte! And I must say, you've got the whole look going on and it's a really good one to me!
Great jacket and the fit is spot-on. It looks great on you and suits you perfectly. I like the jeans and boots too while I'm at it!
As for the stencil, my vote is that I'd opt for the...
So I was at my local hobby store yesterday and took along my camera to try get some decent shots of one of the dioramas in there that I absolutely adore - and I know many around here would appreciate for the A2 and B-6 jackets and the B-2 caps!
Thankfully it was still there - and it was made by...
Beautiful shots and thanks for posting them here and for thinking of us, Sloan!
I love the photo of the "Gloria Ann" A2 with the almost ghostly reflection of that B-17! I think it's one time that a reflection couldn't have worked out any better!
It's always a treat to see authentic jacket art...
Fantastic photos - and a Sherman tank as a backdrop! Perfect! I don't think that's ever been done - I love it. And the jacket is a winner and the fit is spot-on. It looks great on you.
Good review too with your thoughts and I can echo them. I had my ELC RW B-6 on yesterday and it's had a lot of...
Glad to hear it's worth watching!
I'm working my way through the last season of the original Heroes series and am really enjoying it - but, at the same time, fearing it comes to a juddering and incomplete end as I know it got cancelled.
Well, that's encouraging!
We finished Season 4 last night and I now have to reconsider my earlier comment that "It's a drama without a lot of drama" ! Fantastic stuff !! Loving it!
ELC jackets are made as per the originals. In the late 1980s, I was fortunate to have a close look at my old doctor's Irvin that he wore during WW2 in the Fleet Air Arm flying in Swordfish. He said it had "been in the drink" a few times and it was in great condition. I was surprised at how much...
Wikipedia says it's stood on the same site since 1936, so you were close!
Can't find out the reason for the name. But I did see the 3'10" trailer for the new Peanuts film that's playing there. I feel like I've just seen the entire movie!
Beautiful A2, Chamboid! Perfect in every way and it suits you, Sir!
I think some things worth waiting for, Mendelboaz.
And as mentioned, there's plenty of time to sock away a little cash along the way … so, good for you! At least you have your place in line. :) It'll be worth it.
Is that diner actually called "ISIS", HD? A bit unfortunate if it is …!
Great photos though!
As for the main subject, as HD and others have stated, the B-6 is a thinner sheepskin - and I wore my old ELC B-6 until it softened and draped more like a substantial cardigan! But at no time did I ever...
When I first learnt of the ANJ-3 and saw photos of an original and became interested in one, I did a lot of my own on-line research into the type and, a couple of months later, felt that it combined the best elements of both the A2 and M422-A and made the most practical sense and looked...
Yes indeed - a lost opportunity alright; a chance to not only to show off his wares but also to not look like a slob on TV. But looking at their website and considering their market of modern (and showbiz) customers, I'm sure he's dressed just fine and they'll do well for the TV plug (as I hope...
Good day folks,
I was surprised to discover that Jenn, the roving reporter on BT (Breakfast Television) on CityTV here in Toronto, was at a leather factory this morning!
This is the first part I saw (3/5) and in this slot, she sees how a leather belt is made and I found it interesting to see...
Thank you, Nr. Shackleton! It's much appreciated - like reading liner notes on an LP, there'll be more to appreciate with the creative process. It certainly is a very rich show and this will help no end.
Last night we saw the episode with the John Deere mower in the office. As Mad Men is an...
Mad Men.
Started watching on DVD and we're loving it. We're now up to Season 3.
So much smoking and drinking and cavorting! It's amazing anyone lived to be 50. Loving it, as I said.
As Edward says, it's rather long in the body - and no, it's not accurate to a good repro and you could hold off until a better Irvin/B-3/ANJ-4 turns up, if that's what you'd like.
But that said Vance, IMO it really is a good price at $349 and it would be very useful for outdoor arenas (like...
300+ kits in 4 years ?! And I thought I was prolific in my former years! I'm sure you've built some of mostly everything! I'd love to see some of your kits sometime.
And it's not just the enamel paints, is it? It's the turps and thinners … so using water with acrylics is a bonus not lost on me...
Oh, I can appreciate the excitement you must be feeling, BN - hunting and gathering the quality parts and materials you want for the preparation.
And now it's over to the maker …
I'm looking forward to seeing how your project works out - and fingers crossed for the fit you're after and I hope...
