I am fascinated by the idea that every leather jacket is a historical and cultural reference (I'll keep the psychological, mythical, and sexual aspects out of this, although they, too, have their place here); and that one needs to be aware of those references to understand and adapt them to...
Discussions are fun and profitable ONLY when there is respectful disagreement and well-reasoned difference of opinion and view-point.

"I value well executed, bench applied top stitching on handmade jackets by individual craftsmen (and women (e.g., Julie)..."
Who's Julie?

It's not a good deal for me, because I don't look for Aero. I've got a closet full of vintage, deadstock, American-made Western shirts, jeans, jackets, boots, and now a killer leather jacket, too; all bought in the fifteen to fifty dollars range. Ebay works for me just fine.
P.S. Right after I...
There is plenty of "the real thing" to be found on Ebay, but you have to know what you're looking for to find it. If someone can't tell a difference between that and a cheap knock-off, then he needs to educate himself first.

It is a very nice jacket indeed, but only one of many "best and most stylish" options. Now, I don't mean to put a bee under your hat, neighbor, but in my old-fashioned neck of the woods folks don't go around calling those who disagree with their "undoubtedly" opinions "fools".

Budget: from $50 to 1500. Condition: from well-used to brand-spanking new. Hide: horse, steer, woolly mammoth, what have you. Heft: all the way to cast-iron. Style: from simplified (easy on the pockets and zippers...
"Someone offered me a Wilson in exchange."
Come on, everyone knows that the only leather jackets that appreciate in value over time are Wilson's and Members Only. Beanie Babies and Bradford Exchange plates, especially the ones with unicorns, are a great investment, too.
