Forgot to mention, it was very cold to the touch. :) How it was considered a lifesaver to ditched pilots is beyond me, as it was an absolute liability in the cold, wet hills of Scotland.
Other than all that, I felt the play didn't live up to the reviews and that the ending was rather abrupt...
I got a black Aero FQHH jacket a couple of years ago that came from a batch which showed the brown underlayer relatively quickly. I quite like it now as it does seem to have aged quicker than might be expected. I don't know if they still do this though, as the two black jackets I've had since...
I had a double layer ventile jacket in the days before goretex. It was expensive, heavy, cracked at the seams, froze almost solid when wet and then moving above the freeze level and then took a day or two to dry out when saturated. For hillwalking in wet and windy conditions, Paramo nowadays...
The good news is that he's been posting again on the Selvedge board after a long break, so he's not doing an LD. The usual advice is to phone him, though, as he answers that more than emails.
My Teamster had the football buttons replaced by Aero while I waited. They unpicked the sleeve lining seam and went in through there, so the fix was unnoticeable.
I sold that jacket, but when I got another Teamster I had normal buttons put on that, which I now prefer, and they seem more secure...
Hi lina, and welcome. I'm 5'11" with a 40 chest and have a 40 Maxwell. If I layer at all, it's usually a t-shirt, thick shirt and a vest/waistcoat, which doesn't make me feel constricted, but that's because of only one set of sleeves underneath. Two sets of sleeves underneath would be too...
I suppose it depends on whether you size up or not. Mine was so trim that losing that little extra flexibility on the back would definitely have made it more constricting, especially if say driving in it.
But if you size up and lose the trimness, to me that kind of loses the point of the neater...
Yeah, I just looked at the Aero page, but that's the only colour fleece it comes in. No doubt historically accurate, but limiting. The collar's huge, and I know that's the style, but if it came in black or amber I'd be very tempted, as I really like the rest of it.
What are the pit and back...
Well, as Grayland alluded to above, I moved mine on quite a while ago and got a Teamster instead. I just wasn't wearing it much, much preferring the looser-fitting Stockman.
Looking at some of the mods mentioned above, a plain back and losing the half belt, you're almost at a Stockman again...
I'm late to this, but that's a great looking jacket on you, Sloan. I couldn't do that collar, at least in that colour, but the leather, style and fit are spot on. I like the practical pockets too.
I certainly don't hate black. I have three black Aeros I love to bits and wear most of all, and some cordovans that I also love.
On the other hand, I have no browns as I just don't like that as a colour for some reason and can't see me ever getting one. I know most people rave about it, but...
I get hit most times in the UK now. The worst was a charge of £293 for a £250 package. It was clearly wrong, but my only option was to pay it and claim the difference back. It took nearly three months for the refund to come.
I like the look of the wax finish, but amn't keen on the patch pockets. But that guy needs at least one size up.
If anyone's tempted, End have a 20% voucher valid until midnight uk time tonight.
I bought a BR N-1 through Rakuten earlier this year. BR do two versions, the cheaper one I think with the grey lining and the dearer one (Demotexed) with brown real alpaca lining, possibly a tougher shell and I believe Talon zips. I got the dearer one and am very happy with it. I've not...
