What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

Hi The guys from work got together and watched "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly", "Gangster Squad", "Dirty Harry", and "Kill Bill" this month. Some of Tuco's sayings since he was "The Ugly": When you have to shoot, shoot. Don't talk. [a dying man has information Tuco wants] Tuco...

    Field Jacket, Warm, Cozy

Hi I bought an M1965 Field Jacket from Barre Surplus in Vermont (internet) with a liner and it's great. I've been wearing it all week in the 15 degree Fahrenheit weather we're having. I also own an M1943 Field Jacket from At The Front that is much better for warmer weather. Later

    Show us your Guns!

Hi My old gun dealer from Kansas bought a nice Weatherby Lazermark in .300 Weatherby for Elk Hunting. YEARS later he had a chance to take it after some elk. He slide down a hill side and scraped the crap out of the gun, but he didn't care (much) because he bought it to shoot, not to look at...

    Autumnal Thoughts........

Hi Here in Norman Oklahoma, we have ice. Fortunately, not enough to pull the power lines down though. Everyone seems to be driving pretty well in it, unlike Kansas where it's either 70 mph cause who cares about ice or 7 mph cause we're scared to death of ice. In Alabama we had ice once...

    JFK remembrance and hats

Hi I was just going to note that it appears JFK and Jackie were the first and probably the last President and First Lady to be leaders in style. I know Lincoln wasn't. Coolidge, Hoover, Roosevelt, Truman, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush 1, Clinton, Bush 2, and the Obama's sure...

What's something modern you won't miss when it becomes obsolete?

I rented some new car while my 2007 Subaru (all the time 4 Wheel Drive, and Butt warmers) was in the shop. The New car I had (may have been an Escape) was all electronic and touch screen. It had a backup camera. All of the stereo and heater controls were on a touch screen. Guess they'll...

Where were you 50 years ago when JFK was shot

HI Edward It's a military tradition, one that extends to other military commanders (including the commander in chief). Wikipedia says that Colonel is considered the minimum. I would guess that a lot of the funerals that included the riderless horse take place at Arlington. Later

What Did You Drink Last Night?

Hi Drinking a Schlafly Porter, it's a plain old standard Porter. Well balanced filling etc. I also tried their Coffee Stout, and it smells like a Starbucks. I couldn't drink it because I can't stand cold coffee. Oh well. Later

    Excessive posting? ... Interesting.....

Sorry Mae, I think Foat = Fawt, but I snuck an extra "R" into Wuth. I need to go visit there sometime. I've only been to Dallas and that was at about 75 at night or 15 during rush hour. I KNOW it ain't the same place. Happy Birthday.

How to Know if You're in The Right Bar

B Hi Hudson A friend of mine in Illinois is a little diabetic and drinks his light beer on ice so it gets a little watered down. He only has one or maybe two now. Not even Okies, who can only get 3.2 Budweiser and Miller drink their beer on ice. Ain't never heard of such things. :eeek: Later

    Excessive posting? ... Interesting.....

Jeez Tom, I really do have shoes that I still wear, that are older than you. I bought a pair of Topsiders at the outlet Malls in Boaz Alabama in 1985. I still wear them to shoot when I'm at an indoor range. I don't care as much if they get lead on the bottoms. Happy Birthday you old Coot...

How do folks react to your hat wearing?

Hi Wellllll, you're not in her equation. You should probably be happy about that, you don't have to support her, OR be the target of her rant. Next we'll probably have to chip in and buy her a hat!! :D I'm over 40, and have known my old boss from High School my whole life. I have NO CLUE...

    Carryon Luggage

Hi PERSONALLY, I find checking luggage is a better option because you don't have to be so retentive about what goes in the carry on bag. The airlines CHANGE what is allowed on an irregular, but frequent basis, as does the TSA. I'll defer to the Hawk about the current sizes. I own a very old...

Does anyone else hate the 'Regards' signature

Hi I'm very glad you posted that. I've seen someone write V/R as "Very Regards", which is just silly. Regards COULD be the R, but the V/R just didn't work. Finally V/R makes sense. I can only guess that the "someone" saw Regards somewhere and V/R somewhere else. Thanks
