Wow, if this guy went to Junior High at Coleman Middle School, he MIGHT have worn a Tangerine sack coat, pants, shoes, top hat and cape to graduation. 2001 more or less. Build and facial features are close buy not 100%. If its him, he's been a fashion icon for quite some time.

Exactly, he's in "The Gunfighters" in the Time Life books in a two page picture with bunch of guys. The picture I posted is from a different book, same group but with hats down like normally worn. The time life picture is all with the hats up so you can see their faces. He was a Vigilante...
Hi, the Gray hat is Steel Gray, I like it a lot. I have a couple of Uberti Schofields in .45 LC, but I shoot 45 Schofield in them. I shoot Grand Army of the Frontier at this point using the Schofield and a Krag Rifle. My plan is to start shooting NCOWS North of Dallas, forget the name of the...
Hi
I also picked up a Gray Dress hat, It was mostly ready when I showed up.
I'm sure the Gray one will get more wear around town, but I'll swap the Dirty Brown one and the Rough Rider hat at the range.
I'm sorry to note that Erwin's Steak House in Covington closed, they had great food. We...
Hi, I went out and had a friend of mine take a few pictures of my rendition of Will Armstrong. I'm sure he was a great guy but the grin made him look just plain old DIRTY. Note that I managed to get a full set of mismatched brown stuff to wear.

The third pic and the first are the...
Hi Y'all, we did it again. I drove over to Covington with a friend of mine who grew up in Holcomb and Kennett Missouri over in the Bool Heel. I worked out a couple of hats with Mike ahead of time, and brought a shipping box for hats with us for Dan's hat in case it took longer. I was wanting...
Hi, I worked in 4H with an Air Force Senior Master Sergeant who wore the tan and green camouflage. I always kidded him that he was camouflaging the gravy stains. The Navy is camouflaging oil stains I guess.

Hi, while no longer in a Scotch whisky phase I feel your pain. The last sentence makes it sound like there WAS 12 year old Aberlour and now there's NONE. Thanks to this place, I've swapped to Rye whiskeys of varying proofs...

Good catch on the hat. I HATE to change a hat from the original style, no logical reason for that though. That said, I would be changing the brim as soon as I could. I don't like that style, I live in Oklahoma and it seems to be THE style for the Rodeo set.

Hi, Not a style suggestion, but a buying suggestion. 1. Don't buy a wool hat, they tend to taper as they age, Wool shrinks. 2. You don't mention where you live, but somewhere on here there's a list of hatters. Find one in your state, IN GENERAL a hatter can make something very close to what...
Hi, Most hatters sell "distressed" hats. I prefer to do my own distressing. On that subject, I wore my John Wayne Fort Apache hat in the rain at Shiloh military park the day after I walked out of Mike Moore's shop. I haven't done that enough for it to look distressed though.

Hi Jack, I think you mean the Scotch and Sirloin. http://www.scotchandsirloin.net/
I was fortunate enough to get to eat and drink there at a convention (not MY convention). Free Steak and beer is much better than the same steak and beer you paid for.

Hi, I used to live in Wichita with two Granite City restaurants. They both closed and I do miss it. OKC has a LOT of breweries now. None are close to following the German Beer Purity Law, but one called the Battered Boar stands out. They make a 8 to 10% Pancake and Syrup Stout, which does...
Hi, I wish I had a nice story about my Grandfather's hat, or even my Dad's hat. Unfortunately, all I can relate is the reason that I dislike Stingy Brim hats. I found a couple of cheap Stingy Brim hats in our garage years ago. One was a brown plaid. Dad wore them until well before I was in...
Hi Tony, I've been off the Lounge for a bit for no real reason.
While being a Luddite has it's points, I did have a NEW printed Rand McNally map that didn't have the road to my house in the right place. My house was roughly 7 years old at that point. The house is 25 years old now. Hopefully...
Hi
Well, we didn't go to Rock City back in the 1990's because it cost too much. I should go sometime, I mean I spent my childhood reading SEE ROCK CITY signs on barns across the US. IT looked great.
