Try watching Daytime TV, you'll never want to retire. Had to stay home with the kid back in 1998, he had the flu and slept all day. Couldn't use power tools, didn't have a new book, so I watched daytime TV. I am still scarred.

I doubt I buy a bottle of that without trying it first. Basil's Dark Rye was a bit of a stretch, but I tried it at Trapper's Fish Camp in OKC before I bought it. The whole Scotch in a Rum casks sounds sort of nasty, Rum is sweet, Scotch is smoky / peaty. On the other hand, you don't know...
Hi
Congratulations Scotty, Both of my parents did 37 years in the same school district, within walking distance of the grade school and high school where they taught. Not the SAME 37 years, Dad was more than 10 years older. Both passed away, and both lasted more than 20 years after retirement...
Hi Art, I got a Pecan Indy Hat back in 2012 or 13. I have a hopefully quick question. I wear a 7 3/8 LO. What's the widest brim I can have with a 5 3/4 open crown?
Thanks
Ha, moved to Oklahoma and we have a place called Pop's that has most kinds of Pop. Birch Beer is a sort of Wintergreen root beer, sounds like mouthwash, but it's actually good.

Hi, I'm a great fan of Basil. The Dark Rye great also, but VERY different from the Straight Bourbon. The Straight Bourbon is smooth, the Dark Rye has a lot more flavor. There's a "touch of Port" added to Straight Rye and Canadian Rye.
Just a quick add, Seltzer beer ain't Beer, Guinness IS...
Hi
Actually dunking the hat on a monthly basis or better when you're wearing it is a VERY GOOD IDEA. Don't wear it for 3 years without wetting it. It cracks in to a few pieces when you sit on it if you don't keep it wet occasionally. Guess how I know that one?

Hi, ok if you iguana look silly, look really silly, crazy, look really really crazy. I saw Will Armstrong online and copied the look, not the hat exactly, but well here:

I think you can...
Hi, I'd second what Tropical Bob says. When you see something online, you THINK you want it. When you try it on you know. If you're married etc, I'd suggest taking those who will be with you when you're wearing it. The kids won't let you look too stupid. Most hatters are good about telling...
Hi, O.K. I gave this about 40 seconds of thought, but PERSONALLY, I'd wear the zebra hat before I'd wear the fuzzy fedoras. If you wear the zebra hat, there ain't any way that anybody with more then 4 brain cells will think you're serious. If you wear the fuzzy fedora people would and should...
Hi
Well, a lot of the natives don't wear hats, especially felt hats. I live in Oklahoma, where we have all 4 seasons, Winter where it's cold and rainy with occasional snow, Spring where it rains some and is a nice 50 or 60 degrees for maybe a week, Summer where the gates of hell open and it...
Hi
I visited Yellowstone before 1970, back when the bears were pretty much Yogi and Bo-bo. People were feeding them Marshmallows and came close to petting them.
Took some Tiger cub scouts to Kinlock Shelter in Bankhead back in 1993 and had a blast. I was a new scout leader and brought a first...
Hi
Texas Rangers aside, I still dislike Silverbelly hats. They tend to change color more in differing light that other hats. Get dressed put on the hat, look in the mirror and it matches your clothes, go outside and it doesn't. Some Silverbelly hats turn a bit pink in sunlight, but they all...
HI
Note that the above says FELT hats. Straw burns a bit better than bunny and beaver fur. To customize a straw hat of any sort, I'd stick to hat bands of various sorts. You can go pretty wild there though.

So, I work at the same place as the ex-wife. At work some people do the whole No-Shave November, but I've had a mustache since I was 18, and a beard since I was 23, so I can't help. I started on the Mullet and the ex said I looked Stupid in a Mullet. Duh, I thought that was the point.
