Hi
I do some leatherwork and I always use distilled water for that because I've gotten some white calcium deposits from our hard water I guess. Usually you want to steam the hat not dip it.
Just my $0.02 and worth every penny.

Hi Rusty
Looks a LOT bigger. It's on a corner which might help walk in traffic. Does he have the second floor also? I looked online and it seems Erwin's is back open. I need a road trip at some point.
Dang, I've parked at the Ruffin Theatre parking lot and walked to Mike's in years past...
Hi
The Country and Western station broke to weather radio any time there was any form or precipitation pretty much to include a flock of 10 birds flying over. They had lots of Storm Chasers and were known as "KFDI Terror Radio."
Here in Oklahoma City area, we have David Payne, weatherman and...
Hi
I read this book years ago. This is one of the 4 books I've truly hated in my life. I dumped the book at my hometown library because the locals wanted a death camp in their home town "so the local boys would have jobs." I THINK it was this book.

Hi Tony, thanks for being my straight man. I got my start on coffee at 3 or 4. I had to stay with Dad's parents for a week or two when Mom's dad had a stroke. Grandma's breakfast then was coffee cake and coffee made in one of those double boiler things. Cup at breakfast and lunch, that was...
Hi
Laphroaig is what I used to drink when I ate Smoked Cheddar, Summer Sausage and Crackers. VERY VERY peaty. Not at all sweet. The Cheaper laphroaig is decent. You might try to find it at a bar, a $10 drink is better than a $30 bottle if you turn out to hate it.

Hi Rick
I haven't seen many telescoping crowns with anything informal like a horsehair band, beads, or Quigley like leather bands. Your more formal band, or a 1 inch plus ribbon would be a good match. IN MY OPINION... The hat size etc fits you.

Well, the Irish have Guinness and Jameson's. The Scottish have Scotch and Scotch Ale, the Germans have beer. If there is a Welsh Whisky and / or beer that would go a long way.

Hey, to me a 2 3/4 inch brimmed Fedora is a stingy brim, but I'm 6'2" and weigh about 210. I have larger friends who will probably never be able to use Dress felt because you can only get a 5 3/4 inch open crown and a 3 inch brim if that. Guys that are 6'5" can wear a fedora shaped hat that's...
Hi
"The felt is a chameleon and varies from gray, to blue-gray, to a very pale green (sage)." I"ll never get that color then. I have enough trouble matching clothes etc. I buy a pile of black dress socks and a pile of tan socks every few years and toss the old ones so I can't mess up...
Hey Brent, That "sage" hat looks really gray on my monitor. Just to compare, what color is the ribbon? From my limited experience with the color sage, it's a bit green right? Looked it up on Wikipedia, yep it's a green. I'd have figured that a gray ribbon wouldn't go well with a sage hat...
I don't much like wasting whiskey on the dogs, but the only time in my life I've ever been jealous of a big ole Hereford bull was watching him have a case of Bud poured down his throat to keep him calm for showing at the Illinois State Fair.

Hi, the phrasing was on purpose, Jeez that was impressive and actually correct.
Now to the real comment. I suggest that the Indiana Jones fedora makes a combination of the skull and the Indiana Jones Turn so that the dead guy is looking beside you....

Ohhhh My GAWD!!!!!! At some point when I have way too much money I should do that for Halloween, Dick Tracy Tombstone Sheriff. That's both great and horrible at the same time.

Hi Terry
Great shape, Love it except for the ribbon, but I'm not a fan of thin ribbons. I can't believe that they made a telescope style bash out of a 7 inch crown originally. Dang.

Hi
Since this is a first hat, I would suggest going inexpensive, not cheap, but... Florida is VERY humid, been there. I would suggest a Sunbody Fedora with at least 3 vent holes in it. I'd get one with a decent sized brim, but not more than 3 or 3.5 inches wide since you'll be in a truck...
