No worries, I know quite a bit about denim so I’m happy to share!
Again, that particular jacket from 3sixteen runs very small, but if you upsize accordingly or just look at the measurements, the fit is killer.
If you're just getting into denim, you have an entire world to discover. Especially if you're into leather jackets, there's nothing better to pair one with than a nice pair of selvedge denim jeans.
This being a denim jacket thread however, I definitely think a quality denim jacket is a...
As Ton mentioned, I would NOT use similar measurements as they will fit very differently.
Iron Heart is a great brand to look at. They are in my top 3 favorite denim manufactures that I've owned, and I've tried many. Their 21oz flagship material is very, very nice. That said, I actually prefer...
No problem. I opened up the Model E on Friday, and it's too tight (size 40). I feel like it's much tighter than my size 38 Model B... which is broken in... but still. In theory they have the exact same 6.5" chest ease and I should have GAINED 2". It doesn't feel the case with the E, for me...
This material will stretch 1-1.5" in the waist, if it needs to, quite easily upon break in (if it's unworn/unwashed). For a 21oz material, it's surprisingly forgiving.
Wow, what a price.
I've owned a LOT of raw selvedge denim - my favorite heavyweight pair is my Iron Heart 888s in their flagship 21oz material (as offered here) that I had additionally tapered by Railcar Fine Goods.
Oh my bad, I switched them all to public. Let me know if they are still locked and I'll edit the post on this end as well.
This was my ONLY leather jacket, I sold/got rid of the rest of them. This being LA, I get use out of it ~6-8 months of the year. I was worried the competition weight would...
It looks like a vintage Lee Sherpa jacket.
The tell tale sign here is the zig zag stitching on the left side (photo right) of the jacket.
What I’m not seeing in some quick searches is the “star” buttons. Modern ones also have more parallel stitching down from the chest pockets and the...
The comp weight is a must. I’m in LA and lucky enough to be surrounded by lots of high end clothing shops (Self Edge, Snake Oil Provisions, Butterscotch, etc) - I’ve slipped on tons of other jackets over the last few years.
Countless Schotts (including a few I owned), Laer, other Vansons, The...
Here's some pictures of the Model B as of today (2 years ~3 months old). Click for higher quality images.

Vanson Model B - 2 year...
Get the competition weight leather, hands down. This is what Vanson is known for... getting anything else would be a shame.
I'm also in favor of brass hardware.
