They're a small mom-and-pop shop in Fairplay, CO. They mainly specialize in western hats, so everything they make is going to be in western weight, which I like. They make some really good hats.

Yeah, part of me is thinking the same thing, but I also like the idea of having an A-2 that is a faithful reproduction. Well, I have a year and a half to make up my mind.
So, I put my name into the queue for a goodwear, and only have about 18 months to figure out what jacket I really want, so naturally I've been scrounging John's site and the rest of internet for any pictures I could find.

Leather jacket, definitely. Thicker ones work still keep me warm down to the 30s zipped up, and unzipped, are fine all the way up to the 70s. For me, they win in all-around flexibility.

That's what he told me last week when I put down my deposit. It could be that the waiting list is shorter right now than when you got on, or he was being overly optimistic.
I'm currently on the waiting list for two, a cordovan Aero Wayfarer, which should arrive sometime in June, and a Good Wear 1933 Werber A-2, which should arrive sometime late 2018.
I'd like to add that the negative connotation of fedoras is only online (but not in the lounge, of course).
You may get a comment about it, almost always good, but the majority of the time, people just don't care. Do what makes you happy.
Just got news from Colorado Mountain Hat Co. that the hat that they were reworking for me is done, and should be shipped on Monday. Sent me this pic, and now I can't wait!
