Thanks 65. I think I'll find I like a lot of hats with the coat. I guess one of the fun things about a new coat is being able to try out different hats with it.
Thanks,
Michael
Thanks MondoFW. Some days things work out, some days not. I seldom know which is which. ha ha.

Thanks Rodolfo. You've been showing some great hats in recent days. As always I should add.
Thanks Red. A homburg and coat are a great pairing. I think I've had this suit for a year or so, but can't really remember. It's quite a heavy wool and was made in Portugal.
Thanks D. Gotta love...
I think I detect a psychological difference between us. I generally find it easier or more appealing to have something in contrast, either color or tonally, than something that matches. Could just be my bad eyes. Ha ha.
Interesting background. Have to use that Middle English when you can or...
I'll agree Dr D, it was a nice find. I think it's the first Air Force gabardine topcoat I've seen. I've been gleaning the info on the color from a museum collection that has an Air Force general's coat from the same period. It was made by Malcolm Kenneth, and oddly enough I started the day...
Another wintry morning, but no white stuff, evil or nice.

Thanks steur. I was so tired this morning after a bout of insomnia that I'm surprised anything went together well.
Thanks again. I think I rather like the light hat with the coat. To the eye the coat has a significant grey element that the camera doesn't seem to want to see today. But...
Moved on to a second 1950s OR this afternoon. This one a Royal Deluxe.

Thanks Harv. It's about to get it's real world test as I'm off to the library to trade in watched dvds for unwatched dvds.
I've been enjoying your hat show lately.
Michael
Thanks DD. I think this was my first Open Road buy. It is a nice color.
Thanks Red. The overcoat is more taupe than straight grey. Nice and warm for sure.
Thanks all,
Michael
Dang cold wind out there this morning. 1950s 3X OR is shielding the pate from the worst of it.
