As one of our resident pilots once said, reaching forward for the controls in a tight jacket is not very comfortable.
Here's the measurements from the military spec document, dated 1971. I have not been able to find a more recent document, although that's not to say one doesn't exist. You will note that no mention is made of Short or Long sizes, so I assume these are Regular only.

Thinking out loud, I wonder why the USAF switched from wool insulation to poly? I'm sure cost probably had something to do with it, but those jackets date from the days when wool wasn't extremely expensive like it is today. And I doubt the USAF would have decided that keeping warm no longer...
I'm pretty sure those heavy USAF parkas were only intended for the worst weather and after you bail out of your B-52 above the Arctic Circle you will find there aren't any snipers hanging around looking for someone to shoot.

Did the seller explicitly claim this was an authentic or genuine USN or US military pea coat? If not, then you have no grounds.
Speaking generally, I think it is important for our members to keep some perspective here and not start believing that someone is peddling fakes or forgeries...
^ Given that Atticus Finch has more or less declined to write up a guide or something on post-WW2 nylon flight clothing, would you be interested in tackling something like that? To the best of my knowledge no such thing exists in English.
