Actually, some folks already think I'm named after a television show when I tell them my middle name is Matlock. Yet that has nothing to do with the TV show, that was simply my Mother's maiden name. Still, its a cool middle name to have; I joke about going by it every once in a while.
LOL...
I'm doubting that will happen with mine; seems this is one of the few reputable places in my city. Everyone takes their vintage watch here, which is why they have a long waiting list.
Still, should be hearing from them before too much longer I would hope.
In the one day I've had my Art Tropic Aire, I found it to be comfortably cool in mid 80's temperature. I had no problems wearing it around Santa Fe. Mine is unlined though with the crown pad, so that does definitely make a difference.
Yes indeed. The Mans Hat Shop and Larry's Hats are the only places where you can get nicer than "run of the mill" fedoras. After doing my research, I think that some of the hats at Mans Hat Shop may be slightly overpriced (a modern Stetson runs about $100, whereas I've heard their worth...
I used mine for notes my last year or two of high school, and my first two years of college. I had one of those folding keyboards. Primarily, my handwriting is awful, yet I am a pretty fast typer. Now I just print my notes (no longer use cursive except to sign my name) and try to take my time.
An exciting Day for Me
Well, I have now joined the "ArtLights" club. Just when I thought I couldn't wait anymore, I got my beautiful new hat from Art just yesterday. Weighing in at just under 3 ounces, I never thought a hat could be so light!
Mine has a little shorter brim than most...
I used a Palm Pilot for several years; but stopped within the last two. I still have the PDA, but it seems I never have it on me when I need to enter a date into it, and then I forget when I get home. Then the battery dies and I have to reconnect it to the computer and load everything up...
...and I used to think having JUST 2 hat shops in Albuquerque was bad...
Have to admire those who struggle to keep hat shops around though. I've chatted a couple of times with the owner of one of the two in town here; very nice guy. In fact, he's the one who told me about The Lounge.
I looked at that one. Sadly, I found that the size is just a tiny bit too small for me. Gorgeous hat though. That seller has some nice hats listed from time to time!
Thanks for the heads up; definitely something to keep in mind. Glad you got your money back; I was thinking as I read that that they weren't even going to allow you a refund. Very glad they did.
I'd survive. As an investigator, my job would essentially be the same. The only difference would be that I would no longer have the computer to do background checks on the fly or research. This being, I would spend more time down at the courts, library, and a lot more time out of my office...
I guess it just makes sense: you can't have a vintage handset without having a phone base. That just doesn't make sense--you have to have somewhere to rest the phone.
Similarly, does anyone else find that they like the feel of an old fashioned handset against their ear? Maybe it is just me...
I can think of another example in which this has happened. It seems that so many young women these days do not mind when their boyfriends call them a "female dog". Some women almost take that as a complement, whereas I'm off to the side with big eyes thinking "he did NOT just say that!"
I may not be a police officer, but my job experience and career choice is fairly similar.
I have been a training private investigator for two years, mainly working unsolved homicides probono in the New Mexico area. My supervisor is Ex Law Enforcement and has been a PI for over twenty...
