I didn't find the hat too stiff at all. I think with some of the work that Art did, it softened it up a tad. But there was plenty of snap in the brim.:)

So you're the one that got it. Congratulations! I half heartedly went after it, but decided I had spent enough on hats for now. That one will be smashing!:eusa_clap Good catch, at least a Lounger got it.
Cheers!

Welcome to the Guild! Are you going to leave the crown alone or are you going to play with the shape a little? Give it a snap brim and leave the crown, now that would look western sharp. Congratulations!:eusa_clap

Gold Bond? Does it make your head stop itching?:p
Just funning! Those are some snazzy looking lid you have there. They have a very comfortable look to them. Congratulations and enjoy!:eusa_clap :eusa_clap

I'm just wondering what the person ate and drunk to stain their lid green.:p
But seriously, those will look fantastic once cleaned up! There is always some sort of potential in every beater.:eusa_clap My Whippet is a good example. Art took that beater and made it shine again.
Cheers!

Has anybody purchased a Panama hat from the e-bay site Montecristi Ultrafino? If you have what is the quality of their hats?
I had won an Optimo style roll up for about 30clams. they called it a "CLASSIC COLONIAL PANAMA HAT GRADE 9 FINE STRAW" I'm quite sure it isn't the best quality...
My Stetson Sutley came with a feather when I bought it a couple of years ago. It looked nice so I left it there. Not too garrish at all, nice and subtle. Sort of classes up an otherwise Indyish looking lid.
Cheers!
Dan
Yeah, but mine is better than his.:p
Thank you!
The fun part in this whole hat collecting thing has been locating hats that are similar to ones that famous folks have worn in the past or near present. My dove grey Stetson Soverign that I recently got is the spittin' image of one that Bing...
Yeah, no joke James. It started out life as a Stetson "Low Places". It was the only one in the silverbelly tan in my size at the westernstore so I bought it and as soon as I got it home I hit it with the steam to get a more Wyoming style crown to it. Then, about a year later a horse tried to...
Analogist: This was the original shape of the hat when I first bought it back in 1991 when I was in rodeo and had punched it up to be a bit more open like in my first pics as soon as I got it home.
I bet the makers of this hat never dremed that it would go through so many reincarnations.
I'm...
Benny: Of course you can, I borrowed from Larry the Cable Guy.;)
TonyB: Yep, Art had to size it up a tad otherwise I think my eyes would be popping out further than they already do.lol Art did the whole 9 yards on this one, and what a fabulous bit of work is is. The sweatband is very soft...
Thanks again Marc! I think Art had found the perfect ribbon for it. It made all the difference.
My Resistol is just a standard cowboy hat in black, and I was pondering the the thought of having this done to it but with a midnight blue ribbon & brim binding.
Cheers!

The Stetson 4X redux...
The Stetson 4X Low Places hat is back from Art's masterful hands in it's third incarnation. Art knocked a good chunk of the brim off and did a dimensional cut. I just love it now! It was a hat that hadn't seen much wear in the past few years, and now has a new life.
The...
Here it be!
Back from Art's masterful hands. It turned out fantastic and very comfortable. I'd have to say I'm happier than a tornado in a trailer park! The ribbon & brim binding are a perfect match for the hat.
Thanks again Art, it turned our fabulous!
Cheers!

The family sat sown and watched several of these this weekend. Our 7 year old absolutely loves the "Learning to Fly" short, where Goofy sings, "High, high, up in the Sky". Heard him last night singing it in the shower. Too funny.:) Another youth hooked by Goofy. Made for a great family bonding...
