I don’t wear mine year round. Pretty much just nov until march in the midwest. This may be over thinking but i wear 22oz in winter, 14 spring and fall and 10 oz in the summer. The weight seems to matter for thermal comfort for me.

I have A jacket inbound. I had a tough time deciding between 2 popular makers on TFL. I figure I can wear it to about 50. If I ended up in Cal it might be the only jacket I’d need. However, I won’t go west young man. In fact the opposite.
My IH 21oz broke in soft as sweats. It has been suggested that they are a looser weave and therefore breath better. For me, i wear the heavy stuff when its cold out. It does feel warmer. Break in time is nominally longer than say 14oz
I got a pair of their heavy duck. The measures 3” narrower in the waist than advertised. When i told them they said approx “these must have come in narrower than our sample run.” In my head i’m all “you didnt check?”
