What a beauty of a jacket. Congratulations! I have an A1 on order from Goodwear but I'm a bit worried about the new cape John Chapman is using. Anyone had first-hand experience of it? I'm thinking I might prefer this one.

Jan, I'll try to snap the shirts. They really are very nice. And about £70 each on sale. I intend to plunder that shop next year when (if) they hold a sale. They had plenty of stock, too. I'm surprised the brand breaks even; I'd wonder how many people were receptive to that taste, especially at...
Jan, nice look. I've also been getting into RRL lately. Wouldn't touch Ralph Lauren's normal clothing line with a barge pole, but the vintage/retro aesthetic of RRL hits my sweet spot big time. The shirts are normally £175 and up, which even I can't justify, but they were 60% off at the recent...
I'm concerned about accuracy but I'm equally concerned about how the jackets look. In fact, I wear them for that reason: that they evoke a certain period that I find appealing. And because (to the discerning eye) they can look damn good.

Sloan, can you name the films that have starred Aero leathers?
Chaps, not sure the vituperation is necessary from anyone here, and it does lower the tone. We're not even talking politics.
SJ
No, I'm just an Aero junkie who's been waiting for his latest fix for a very long time.
Thanks for your articles, Sloan. Been enjoying them; I speak as a fellow hack.
Gorgeous. Japan is obviously a necessary stop on the retro-clothes-wearer's itinerary. Would have to be a stop, though, because Japanese sizing means remote trying on can't be trusted.

Yep, Brick Lane among the best bets. Do you mean secondhand or vintage-style, as well? If the latter, try Son of a Stag, off Brick Lane. Possibly my favourite clothes shop in London (beating American Classic, for example) with lots of heavy selvidge denim, Red Wings and a great selection of...
What a shame (and surprise) to hear about Will's departure. I always found him more than helpful with the many Aeros that have passed through my hands.
In fact, Will measured me up, at the factory, for the 38 A2 I am expecting in a few weeks. No problems with passing on the details of such...
Butte has spoken for me well. I wouldn't enjoy my jacket if I knew it had been made by some exploited Chinese factory worker. And this style of leather jacket is hardly a Chines heritage item. Anyway, how could a Chinese factory possibly coordinate the kind of modifications that we jacket...
