    I chuckle inside as I read this; I wore a trenchcoat to my high school, along with my fedora. My teachers never freaked out; but its probably because they knew I was harmless. ;) Now-a-days I can definitely see the need to be cautious about such things.

    Don't ask me why, but I've always been hesitant about doing that with a new hat. Now, vintage, I have done that before. I guess I figure once a hat has made it fifty or sixty years, it has proved itself and I know it can handle the elements of life.
