You've caught me out. I'm protective of what we have here, no doubt. My reaction to the Vanity Fair spotlight piece should have been more welcoming. It will, after all, interest more folks in the things we hold dear - and that's good for The Fedora Lounge.

Brass mugs, even if lined with stainless, will cause immediate burns when filled with hot liquid.
The chrome plated brass coffee server I have cannot be picked up by the handle when filled with hot coffee. You have to used a hot pad or towel or thickish napkin.
That's the question. And I can't help but think that if the author did any kind of reading/researching on the net, she would have landed here over and over. That's not boasting; it's the reality of Google searching. It would be impossible to look this stuff up and not find The Fedora Lounge...
When I first saw the house I live in now, the sight of a shower-over-the-clawfoot was a bit of a letdown, and plans were quickly made to replace it. I wouldn't trade it for anything now. To have a big soaker tub and a shower available is the bee's knees.
