Different types of leather and their characteristics!

Horse does seem water repellant up to a point but will eventually soak up moisture (and shrink). Goat is also pretty resistant and is quite tough, but will also shrink if soaked.* Goat is also not very warm to wear. Bison hide will soak through like a sponge but I'm not sure about shrinkage - it...

Need to fix slight scuff on shoes

Since you aren't dealing with a painted or varnished or metal surface, I'd avoid the use of any kind of abrasive. This is not an application for emery paper. Find a cobbler. There will be one not far away. It's worth the slight amount of time to find a good one.

Everybody Wants ta get inna da act! New book "Let's Bring Back..."

In the November 2010 issue of Vanity Fair. Page 106, a new book is profiled. One Lesley M M Blume suggests such things as Hunphrey Bogart, headscarves, The Stork Club, umbrellas, radio dramas and typewriters should be brought back. I wonder if author Blume did research here at The Fedora...

True Grit - the Dude redo the Duke

*sigh* Yeah. It looks like it'll be fantastic. The book is quite worth finding to read. But boy - It feels like taking something precious from, robbing, The Duke. Cogburn was his baby. Oh well. Time goes on. But if they team Bridges and Streep for the sequel, I reserve the right to gag...

    Newsboy: Hannah or Hat People?

I don't understand. Perhaps Brett's caps seem that way as the top of his caps are more full and, to my thinking, much more vintage looking and correct? It may be a matter of proportion as you view them. I have caps from B!Wear and Hat People and the HP one never gets worn. I look like a...

That is one seriously gabby son of a gun. She is scratching. The final fading second her fingers are clearly moving away from her head. She's not holding anything.
