I have my turntable spinning at the moment. I'm playing my Goodwill finds from today: Sade, Grover Washington Jr., George Bensen and War. Yesterday was: Chaz Jankel, Fun Boy Three, Pat Metheny Group and Alan Parsons Project.
I kinda laid off buying DVDs for a while....spending WAY too much on them. But I did find 'The Shootist' in the bargain bin at Wal-Mart recently...four bucks. Quite a cast: John Wayne, Lauren Bacall and Jimmy Stewart! Is it considered a 'western' even though it takes place post-1900?
Who would've thought a wild color like that was used sixty years ago!
As for selling it............I've just decided I want to be wearing that one when they stick me six feet under...lol
While these aren't my particular favorites here's some from my collection that can sort of show you the variety from the art deco to the atomic age....
I don't own or need a car. I only live a couple of blocks from my job (if need be I'm given a company car to use). I figure that's about a three to four thousand dollar annual expense everyone else has. Also....I live within walking distance of four thrift stores!

Four-in-hand. I think all the wild 1940s ties were meant to be worn like that by untamed bachelors...like me. I recall a Cary Grant film where he was the wild bachelor and wore his ties like that and his woman tried to tame him by taking his tie off and replace it with a dull single-colored one...
I guess I consider myself to be. I've worked as a newspaper photographer most of my career, but I really just like making fun of myself showing you guys my work......
Dizzy's got a new member...
All the way from Germany he's found his long lost uncle Johann Brownstein who's agreed to join although he's never played a jazz note in his life. Johann was classicly trained and has been a second chair violinist for the Braundenburg Symphony Orchestra for the...
The film will probably fail at the box office because of this 'too soon' attitude...which is really too bad since:
Donations
•Ten percent of opening weekend box-office receipts from “World Trade Center” will be donated to 9/11-related charities, Paramount Pictures has announced. The...
I say it's about time. Five years is more than enough time to make a film dealing with it.
BTW: the collapsed building where the film takes place is not one of the twin towers.
