Yeah its a cool one for sure. Excellent condition for what I would guess its its age.
Its hard to read the patent number but I thought of that too as at least a lead. I think I have done this in the past on this label when Terry was trying to track down the maker who used this label. As I...
First off, DAMN.
Second---I pose this question to all the Sages in the Lounge---
Is there any connection with Albert Richard and Monarch??? These cuffs look a lot like a jacket I thought was perhaps a Monarch....... I have not had the time to post three bitchen jackets I have picked up in...
Thanks Terry!!! I knew you'd have some facts on these. Both of yours look awesome but that black one is PERFECTION!!! So much to like on that jacket!!! That back has a lot goin on and the combo on the front is understated and classy. I love that sleeve type on this particular jacket. It...
Totally agree with you. Its hard to make both points at once regarding value. I do think there is a point where some things just transcend provenance. In this case, as you say, a 40s Aviator is a 40s Aviator. The rarity and vintage perhaps make the lack of a label of little consequence...
This is exactly what I thought when I saw this jacket. Looks very Capeskinish to me too. It doesn't have that overall raisin crinkly graining that Goat this old would have. Rather, it has these other graining markings that I associate with CapeSkin. But I only have handled really old...
Seller thinks this is a Block Bilt Goat. Could be. Nice size. OK condition for age but there is some wear on the shoulders that could be excessive in some areas. I wouldn't mind owning this jacket but----Too rich for my blood at the moment. Maybe its a bit overpriced for an untagged jacket...
The lower price is because the tag indicates this jacket was APPRENTICE/TRAINEE MADE.......... I'm not scoffing at it. Just pointing out the reason for the seemingly deeply discounted price. I think its cool that Aero trains its people and sells the products that they make like this. Just be...
I have this same model jacket in a Hercules. It is not the Palm Tree Label that we associate with the California Sportswear made jackets though. I wonder who made these??? COULD they be California Sportswear??????? Way to narrow it down to a mere DIRECTION Penny's!!!!!!! MADE AND STYLED...
This style is not super rare although it's not seen as often as some others. I have seen this in Windward, and Aldencrest for certain. Not sure if Hercules (Sears) made one too. So the design itself is not what is special here to me. Might have even all been made by the same maker and just...
I have a brown one of these and its a great fitting CR. I know obviously that fit is very personal but this is the second best fitting Cafe Racer I own just behind the HD Sportster One pocket. I recently did a try on of all my CRs and the Golden Bear is one of the best. I was surprised how...
I recently read that the term "BALDY" is now considered a term of SEXUAL HARASSMENT in the UK. Maybe you can just sue for Wig money????????!!!! We baldies need to stick together to fight against Sexual Harassment. When a woman calls me BALDY.................... I feel so USED...
Find for sure. This IS incredible that a fur is this intact after so much time!!!!!!!!! Looks damn cool and just straight up PIMP too!!!!!!!! From the label one would expect this was Hugh Heffner's jacket!!!!!!!
Or Dave Puddy's...............................
I forgot to post the back----the look flows pretty smoothly. Though there are multiple panels, they managed to line it up so that it looks homogenous. OR perhaps it was cut from one large hide portion to fit the jacket build and pieced back together. Either way, it works.
According to Seller: "This jacket belonged to my grandfather. He was an undercover COW TIPPER and this was part of his uniform......"
Yeah..... Just kidding......
Cool one though.............. Oddly its a McGregor...
Excuse my digression on the UPS Browns here............
I have some friends who are pilots and one of them flies for UPS. When talking with other pilots you'll hear, "Hey You still flyin for BIG BROWN???" Also, a successful shipping businessman owns a horse that won the Kentucky Derby some...
