    Autumnal Thoughts........

I love this time of year, but, I wish the sun would stay up a bit longer, so I could get some yard work done.

    What was your first car...???

That article left out the most important part, "Illig, who was thrown 30 feet in the air, was pronounced dead at the scene." http://articles.latimes.com/1999/apr/15/local/me-27651 If you fly 30 feet up in the air, then hit a car, fin or no fin, you are probably going to die!

    Why the 1920s-1940s?

No, we do not look at our cell phones all the way through lunch, we just check them when we get off the motorcycles!

A-1 Jacket / A1 Flying Jacket - The ultimate Golden Era flying accessory!

So no one wears their A-1 enough to give feed back? I really would like to know.

What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

Women In The Wind (1939) Not a very good movie, usual plot line. Still, worth watching for some great footage of Golden Era airplanes. The footage of the Stagerwing Beech doing aerobatics and flying above the clouds is spectacular. Only a couple of scenes were they use models!

whats the closest thing to Traveling back in Time? to get a feel of times past?

Ride the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. For that Golden Age feel, take a ride in an open cockpit biplane, over farm land!

    USPS - snails pace

That is something most people don't realize! No private business would do that, and neither would USPS if they were not forced to do it.

    What was your first car...???

That turned out to be an urban legend! Look at the 59 Cadillac bellow, the fins are on the back, so it would have to back up onto the pedestrian, knocking them over, before they could be impaled. If you were standing against a wall, you would be crushed by all that chrome, so the fin would be...

    Why the 1920s-1940s?

Kind of funny! I grew up before home computers, I remember the giant IBMs with their reel to reel and punch cards, which makes the smart phone all the more incredible! When my motorcycle club stops for lunch, every one pulls out their phones, we range in age from, mid 20s, to a couple in their...

A-1 Jacket / A1 Flying Jacket - The ultimate Golden Era flying accessory!

Here's one for all you A-1 owners, how's your button holes holding up? I am curious as to the repeated buttoning and unbuttoning, and whether it is wearing out the threads, and distorting the holes like on blue jeans?

    What was your first car...???

I did not buy a car until I was 21, (always had motorcycles.) I bought for the wrong reason, to impress a woman. I had a choice of a 57 T-Bird, 62 Corvette or a 71 240Z. Well, the first two were $500 more, and I could not beg, barrow, or steal the extra money, so 240Z it was! It was a lot of fun...

    What was your first car...???

Now that you mention it, I have never read it, and I know, none of my friends that actually owned a Corvair ever read it. Funny how a book, no one ever read, had such a profound impact on the auto industry! One thing I do know, many people have flown behind modified Corvair engines with little...

    USPS - snails pace

I have to agree with those who have had good luck with USPS. I always get my package fast, and any one I send to gets it fast. Remember when UPS and FedEx had to take shipments to USPS to try and make their Christmas deliveries on time? I don't even want to talk about damaged boxes from the...

I bet It is better for you then the corn syrup and other additives. I noticed, since I have gone back to real butter, sugar and salt, I have lost weight!

So trivial, yet it really ticks you off.

Even worse, you are listing to the song, on hold, or in the elevator, and you suddenly realize it's Jimi Hendrix or Led Zeppelin, made into elevator music! Talk about feeling old.

    Why the 1920s-1940s?

I do have to laugh at my self! I have had a smart phone since 2011, with all the motorcycle trips, I need it, to figure out where I am , find gas, get a room, or camp ground, when I am not going to make it as far as I thought. Last month, I used it the most I ever had, seemed like every day...
