    1940s/1950s cars vs. 1960s cars

I just realized, by talking about cars made from 1940-1970, are we talking American or the rest of the world? American cars after 1939 took a decided downwards spiral in looks. Theirs a reason that the Hot Roder's prefer pre39 cars, they just look so good! Now, Germany, Italy and Great Britain...

    Show us your vintage home!

Finally broke down and hired a pro to remove most of the wall paper. Good thing I did, in the master bedroom and the main bath, there was a second layer underneath, that was painted over. He left the painted layer, with only minor damage, so I will paint over it. You can barely see the seems, so...

    Show us your vehicles

I used to hate them, saying 67 was the last year for Vetts, but they have grown on me in recent years! I find my self, gravitating to the Big Block 454ci, 1973 model year. I like the combination, new bumperless front end, combined with the little chrome bumperets in the rear. I also like the...

Vintage Things That Have Disappeared In Your Lifetime?

That is probably the reason the kits cost so much now days. Back when they had millions of us baby boomers, they could keep the price low. Speaking of inexpensive kits, the balsa wood and tissue planes were so cheap, you could afford to build them, then wind up the rubber-band, light it on fire...

    Excessive posting? ... Interesting.....

Tell James, I am really mad at him! I was all set to go and brake his posting record, until, the minions I hired found out it was his record, they all got up and walked out. Curse you James, my evil nemeses! ;)

    USS Oklahaoma Unknown Men

Since almost all the unknowns of The Vietnam War have been Identified, they are now working back while the DNA trail is still fresh. There are still siblings that would like to know where their brothers remains are. We tend to forget, lots of people still need final closure even after 74 years!

Why are original G-1 jackets so cheap compared to A-2s?

Maybe for a year, if even that long! The A2 is still the fashion icon of all leather jackets. When I flew air shows in the 80s-90s, I would often be the only one wearing a G1, but there were a sea of A2s. Remember, even Indiana Jones and The Fonz wore modified A2s. Just type in Bomber Jacket on...

    USS Oklahaoma Unknown Men

Not sure if they were asked! Turns out, a lot of these individual grave sights, were actually mass graves. Apparently, with the start of the war, there was not much reverence for the dead, just hurry up and bury them!
