Hmm, the places I've purchased ties online frequently offer pocket squares cut from the same material. When my wife made my seersucker bowtie she had enough left over to do the same.

I've always thought a Tri-Five Chevy would be the ideal daily driver. Parts availability is better than a lot of cars produced even ten years ago, and by all indications will remain so. Not to mention, they're the perfect platform for hidden upgrades - from just disc brakes and overdrive...
Resistol "Melorol" Fedora
This was the one I really wanted. It's a Resistol fedora with the Self-Conforming "Melorol" sweatband. Note the wind trolley.
The "Byer-Rolnick" liner means pre-1968, correct?
It's got an interesting "more-on-the-bottom" bound edge.
And one little...
Stetson St. Regis
I just purchased a lot of two hats. The first is a Stetson St. Regis Homburg:
It has a brown sweatband, which means pre-1965, correct?
It's stamped "Mellencamp's, Ypsilanti, Mich." I've yet to determine what became of Mellencamp's and when.
With the...
I like the idea of the bare Yakkay helmet with goggles - though I'd probably try to find a pair of repop WWII goggles. As for retailers - maybe try Danish eBay?

This is great, only one problem - not fair for you ladies to keep these to yourseles in the Powder Room!
Interesting, these pics were taken mostly in/around Grand Rapids, MI. It's rare to see old photos of Michigan taken outside Detroit. I wonder where the "Southern Barbeque Nightclub" was...
Ever since I heard the story of "I'll Never Smile Again" I can barely stand to listen to it without almost going into mourning. If I try to sing it, tears are a sure thing.
Edit: I see nobody has listed that one yet, so here's the story, just so you can cry along with me.
So, you see...
I didn't realize there were novels! I agree on the anthropomorphic animals thing. The Wikipedia article on Sherlock Hound indicates there were quite a few episodes, I've only seen maybe two of them. The credits always indicated there was quite a bit that I was missing, however, as it showed...
Hey, pal, why don't you stop putting words in the lady's mouth? She's not painting all cyclists with the same brush, you're just one of those cyclists with a chip on his shoulder.

Amen, LizzieMaine. I've always said "Same road, same rules" works both ways. Many, many cyclists seem to have a double standard about signaling and proper use of the lanes - you can't be a road-going vehicle when it suits you and a pedestrian when it suits you.
For the record, I do notice...
It sounds like the real question here then ought to be not what helmet, but what panniers to carry your proper hat for when you reach your destination.

True, but I just checked and the minimum order from WPG is $12.00. Not that I couldn't spend hundreds of dollars there easily, but for my immediate purposes I might try salvaging my existing hardware and just replacing the cork.
That is - unless someone is about to place an order and wants...
Hmm, there's a second page to this thread that I can't seem to access. Oh well.
I just wanted to say that there's a chain of barbershops around Grand Rapids (Jude's) that offers a hot-towel/straight-razor shave for around $15.00. That used to include a beer, but alas Michigan requires...
Kitty T, I would love to know anything he might know. Era alone would be great - this takes D cells, so for all I know it could be from the 1970s.
