Adventurebilt hats - anyone ordered from?

(self edited - not the kind of +1 I'm looking for)

    Post New Hats Here!

I can't recall seeing another Stetson like that, and that logo is seldom seen. Very nice hat.

I think that it's the way that Stetson says

    Here's my recent pick-up. It's surprisingly heavy.

It's Spring. Show your Straw hats if you have 'em

That's what I get for not reading the article further. There have been a handful of hats marked Picot posted, one of which is this Resistol. I don't think anyone has posted any info about Picot.

It's Spring. Show your Straw hats if you have 'em

It looks like milan to me - milan is sometimes died black. Why is it supposed to be '47 or earlier? Just a quick search shows that most CR Anthony stores were around until 1997 and that there might still be some under that name.

It's Spring. Show your Straw hats if you have 'em

Looks like a teardrop to me. I didn't specify the crease, I just picked out the ribbon.

Unneeded capitalization is often a problem. Optimo = hat company - You'll find that there are two of them. One is in Arizona (or some such). The other is the one in Chicago, owned and run by Graham Thompson. I'm not sure if anyone has posted about an experience with the one in Arizona (which I...

    Panama Hat Thread

It was Borsalino, as discussed in this thread - which has been heavily edited. Bencraft doesn't list any Borso Montecristis that I noticed, so either the model was discontinued, the markings changed, etc.

You're back to handmade vs. machine braided/woven/etc. In all cases of straw hats, the material cost is pretty negligible.

Very nice. Before reading the post, I thought it was an Angora Borso with an Art re-work.

All winners so far. Looking great, Rlk, Eric, Michael and Alan. Great hat, Zet, but the proportions are all wrong for your arm. ;)

I'd always heard my-lan, even though it is named after the city. We love to Americanize words, and Ohio is full of places with differently pronounced names. We've got a city called Milan (My-lan), one called Medina (Me-deye-na), and my favorite, Mantua (Man-a-way).

The Palazzo might also be paper, or plastic coated paper. Shantung is a very particular (trademarked, or was at one time) kind of plastic coated paper. An additional thought: why would you want to buy any basic item when the material from which it's made is so difficult to define? To me...

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

I know it's earlier than mine, but I don't know when those Beaver 100s arrived. As far as I know, we've only seen a couple and it certainly wouldn't be the first time that names, markings, or other dating cues proved to be a bit inconsistent in a Stetson transition. To me, that seemed like a...

Stetson 100 with case (maybe a Beaver 100 like the one I had - I can't see the front of the sweat well enough) from Morris Mens Shop at the Stock Yard Inn, Chicago
