    Make Do and Mend

I always reuse my grocery bags....to pick up my doggie's doo in the back yard.:D I find old stereo speakers make nice little stands of some sort to set little antique trinkets on. My local Goodwill is full of them...nobody wants them anymore. I also have some that actually get used as...

This was parked out my front door today...

This 1940 Cadillac limo/hearse was awaiting the casket of some lucky guy during a funeral service at a Presbyterian church a couple of addresses from me. It was one of the most beautiful vintage autos I have ever seen. [/IMG]

    Actually shocked by TCM!

Early this morning (couldn't sleep again) I was a bit surprised at what was on TCM. A couple of those early 70s blaxploitation films staring Pam Grier...Coffy and Foxy Brown....both had quite a bit of sex and nudity. I'm sort of fascinated by this film genre...how the black community was...

    Foreign Films

I own most of the films created by French director Jean-Pierre Jeunet (City of Lost Children)...except Alien 3... I've watched subtitled foreign films since early in high school when the local public tv station showed Fellini and Kurosawa films on Saturday nights. If there is any foreign film...

    Required Music Collection

Not to assume all good music was made in America...I have a box set of the 1930s German male sextet The Comedian Harmonists. They are very entertaining to listen to.

How we dress and what we drive

I haven't owned a car in over four years. I just see too many people around here make it their entire image. I wouldn't want to be known by what I drive.

    Need a new idiot box.

I have a big ol' RCA console. I like it mainly because I can set a lot of my vintage cameras on it.

Are you aware that I have not owned a Television for 5 years?

I definitely disagree with that 30 year-old study!!!

Are you aware that I have not owned a Television for 5 years?

I think I'd still consider watching DVDs on a computer the same thing as having a tv. My computer doesn't play DVDs and my tv viewing is mostly non-commerical channels...I gotta watch my Antiques Roadshow!

    Show us your TIES

It's so rare that I find a 1940s ties anymore that it makes my day when I do. This is from the local Goodwill today. I had to dig through a bin of 100 ties to come up with it. [/IMG]

do you sometimes feel like a freak?

I don't live or work the lifestyle of having to wear a suit and tie...blue jeans, sport coat and vintage tie is getting pretty dressed up for me at work. I can start wearing my white bucks now. Speaking of electronik music, Naama, I was wearing white bucks and vintage tie while at a Kraftwerk...

    Anybody still read the Newspaper?

I will subcribe to my local paper as long as they continue to publish that way. It's enjoyable to sit on the couch with a cup of coffee and my dog curled up next to me and read it. With my subscription I also get the online edition...which is the complete paper rather than the abbreviated...

    Your Will

Before bequeathing my massive vintage necktie collection to anyone I'll have to spend some time deciding which one I want to be buried in...and if I tried on a different one everyday to see which one it would be it would take me about four years!
