Road the bike with the Dirtrider yesterday, had a micro fleece vest underneath at the start but off after lunch.
Really liked how the jacket wore & felt.
First, I'd try talc to see if that would lift it out. Get some talcum powder & coat the area liberally with it then work it in good with finger tips.
Let it sit for a day then brush off, repeat.
You can get some Zippo lighter fluid & coat a Qtip to blot a small area to see how that may work...
There are motorcycle forums that are free with far more traffic than this site.

Have you looked into any of the shrinking techniques provided on the Lounge?
If that is a fairly new sweatband, some of them may pull the hat into your size...

They don't make hats like that anymore & is no contest in comparing to a modern one.

If a vintage hat is not in wearable condition, it goes to a hatter for renovation. Liners can be removed & replaced fairly easily by me but not sweatbands.
