I was just looking at their site today and yes the 118 comes in Long length, which the description says adds 2" to the back length and 1" to the sleeves of the Regular length 118.
I was looking at the 613 since I dislike the extra snaps on the collar and back for the fur collar, but sadly the...
I was digging around on the Schott website and came across this post by a customer. It's the official measurements for the 613 from Gail, one of the company's customer service reps.
Differences between manufacturers in the 1950s and 1960s are not going to be significant. The fanatics will disagree, but they won't be able to prove their position. My suggestion with the vintage ones is to ignore the manufacturer and get the best condition you can afford. The original military...
^ To add, there are tons of the 3rd generation sage green ones and they can be had cheaply. Sometimes the wolf fur ruffs are disintegrating, which doesn't show in photos but when you get it and clumps come off in your hands you'll realize it's something which might need replacement. These are...
I don't like getting rid of gear either, especially when it's perfectly good. I have to have a clean out of some jackets that fit me fine but simply never get used and aren't awesome enough to keep.
I've found this is actually a good solution and it's much cheaper than buying more stuff, although I do it with books instead of the interweb. Hence I now possess some nice glossy porn books on flight jackets, firefighter gear, with a book on denison jackets in the mail... etc.
Really? That's sort of amazing, I think. I've got about 2/3 of what I've bought over the years, simply because it's impossible to get it right every time.

One of my buddies in high school use to do that. When he borrowed his mom's Parisienne (which had a 25 Watt sound system) he'd put the windows down and boom classical music which got him some looks from the knuckleheads in their Camaro's!
The next time you see one of those old Cockpit/Avirex repros please post a pic of the tag for reference so we can i.d. them better. I wouldn't know what I was looking at, frankly, if I was looking for one now.
The fourth pic in that row, the one in faded sepia tones, also shows the same WW1 coats of course. I'm surprised that you've never owned a WW1 version, but they must be exceedingly rare like you say.
Robert Redford in Thee Days of the Condor (great film if you haven't seen it). He's got a civilian pea coat. This is an old movie, so this civilian version must have been designed in the 1970s or earlier.
No worries, man. Make sure you look through both threads, there's tons of details and photos in both threads and they're excellent resources. We have some super knowledgeable people around here!
