I THINK I have an early Excelled Sponge Bob Square Pocket Half Belt.......... My id basis is flimsy though as I am basing the ID on that cheesy short rectangular generic Genuine Horsehide tag. Its a pretty nice well made jacket with a corduroy lined inner collar and storm cuffs. I also have...
@photo2u Yeah the zippers are not perfect. One of the chest pulls is missing too. Not sure if its just the pull missing or the slide itself so I'm not sure about the extent of the zipper work this one will need. I may well need your guidance on this one to get the zippers right. I KNOW you...
Yessir!!!!!!!!! I was just diving deep looking for Spiegel Catalog photos........... Not finding much. I had known about Spiegel growing up but had sorta lost track of them. I am seeing catalogs dating back to 1928 and I just read that they actually ceased operations very recently in 2019-20.
I think you've cracked the case man!!!!!!!!!! The outline of the label that is missing looks like the size and shape of a Spiegel label. Sears, MW, and Penny's all use the taller rectangle labels. The Spiegel's some have a shorter rectangle label. Strong clues here...... see the photo with...
Yeah agreed. I tried combing the Sears/MW threads that @tmitchell59 started up and looked at many catalog postings from him and other members but I haven't found the match yet. I really like the look of it and its like 26" long max with a 23-24" pit to pit. It could be from Penny's!!
Ok --- I took a chance on this jacket. I know that these types of vintage Shearling Lined jackets often have issues where the sheepskin just disintegrates (and this one has a hole in it already). I also know shearling lining can complicate the sizing/fit. At any rate, I still bought this...
I saw her measurements...... Didn't ask how they were taken or see photos tho. Sometimes ya just gotta gamble on how well these Sellers measure. Ya gotta go with your experience over theirs in some cases. AND you can get burned doing so. Lol. I figure someone else will want it if it doesn't...
I was able to snag this one. I didn't ask specifics on the measurements so if it doesn't work out I will have to release it............. It looks to be in good condition........
I have seen that label before. Pretty sure its another of their generic labels. Obviously the big identifier is that riveted chain hanger. It is a different looking jacket for sure.
But you need to know how to set yourself up to be on the right side. You gotta make sure you ask questions to force the Seller to say something they can be held to in order to make it a slam dunk in your favor with eBay. Of course, if the Seller accepted returns, that'd be a different story...
Herc HB probably size 42-44. Not cheap but can make offers
I kinda think it sucks when a Seller KNOWS DAMN WELL there are holes in the leather and those are not highlighted in the photos or mentioned at all in the description. I mean, I can SEE what appear to be various holes but they are only...
Yeah he got back to me as well. Sadly I cannot do 23.5" in back length. I have tried but learned that lesson awhile ago. Also, I think he had us confused as he also quoted me shipping to France. I thought perhaps you were who that was intended for so I told him to redirect that shipping...
This is why I asked specifically for clarification and to specifically omit the collar itself if in was in fact included in the measurement. It also does not indicate if the measurement was taken at the back or the front. I have seen some pretty short old vintage jackets. I could see 23.5"...
This IS cool that these popped up together man!!!! These remind me of 2 things BOTH candy related:
1.) The modern TWIX commercials where they act like the left side and right side Twix bars are separate entities.
2.) Back in the..... prolly 80s......REESE's had these commercials where they...
Seems to be extra short if the measurements are to be believed. 23.5" INCLUDING THE COLLAR....... That puts the back length (assuming the measurement was taken at the back) at roughly 22". That's pretty dang short ESPECIALLY for a 46........ I asked for a specific length measurement of the...
