    Out Of Touch

Earlier this year I bought a VCR/DVD recorder combo off newegg.com. Like you (and a lot of other people), I have VHS tapes that I cherish and I AT LEAST wanted to be able to copy them to DVD while I could. But then I wonder...how much longer do we have for DVDs?

    "Lazy" Vintage Hair Ideas

I've always wanted to know how to do that wave-bang type thing, but I could never seem to master it! This is the exact hairdo I've been trying for, but can never seem to achieve! Looks FAB!!!

    LADIES of the LOUNGE

Thanks! I don't comment nearly enough in this thread, though I'm always looking at it and saying "Ooooh! I want that!" or "Ooooh! So pretty!" You all look wonderful!

Classic Movies Seen In The Theater

Double Feature: Mantrap (1926) & Call Her Savage (1932) As part of a Clara Bow Festival at the Film Forum in NYC Double Feature: It (1927) & Dangerous Curves (1929) Same Clara Bow Festival. I also may have gotten the movies mixed up a bit -- it was a while ago (99 or 2000). Double...

    Shoe Addiction...or Something Else......

I'm addicted to headbands and head scarves. But I RARELY wear them! It's like, if I see a great pattern I must have it. It's unexplainable.

    stretch mark coverage

I have stretch marks and I really don't care about them. I was heavy when I was younger and that's when the stretch marks were really dark. But I lost 60lbs when I was 18 and the marks have faded drastically over the past 14 years. And I agree with pigeontoe about the creams.

    Show Us Your Oldest Books

The oldest book I have is an 1848 copy of The Visitor's Guide To Philadelphia. Sorry no photos -- it's at my dad's house. In my possession, I have a newspaper from 1861: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/Amy_Van_doren/oldschoolamy/newspaper_1861.jpg I have this...

What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

I watched The Delicious Little Devil (1919) over the weekend. That Mae Murray was a little ham!

    Opinions, please

I think they would pass for a cute vintage-esque look. As others have said, the heel isn't quite right, but if you're not going for 100% authenticity, who cares! :)

Someday I'll copy that suit (dress, skirt, blouse)...

Well aren't you sweet! I have another photo of Bev in my latest entry, which is dedicated to the Fabulous 40s!

    LiveJournal groups?

I was going to say the same thing as Josephine! Any interest you like, just type it in the Interest Search and every group and user with that particular interest will come up! I love Live Journal, too. It's really the only outlet I have for my love of vintage to an appreciative audience.

    Golden Era Cultural Icons

There's only 3 I've never heard of on that list: The Dionne Quintuplets Father Coughlin Andy Gump As for the average adult of today, I think these ones would be most recognizable without explaination: Franklin D. Roosevelt Shirley Temple Adolf Hitler Mickey Mouse Popeye The Sailor...

Credo of the new Vintage Lady

I'm not offended, either :) I just stated that that type of set-up wouldn't work in my marriage, but if it works in yours, then that's super! My rule is: there are no rules! You do what's best for you!

Credo of the new Vintage Lady

:eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap Again, Goldleaf says it the best! And I totally agree with you. My husband would probably divorce me if I meekly sat back and watched him make all the decisions. He likes a strong, confident woman who's not afraid to tell him that...

    Priceless Junk

I've often wondered the same thing! I recently sold most of my CD collection because of Mp3s, but then I wondered "What if I have a kid and he/she wants to start a retro CD collection?" I'd have had a goldmine!
