No, it’s graded across the sizes. Gets slightly longer with each as it should.
OP’s size is spot on I think. It’ll get closer as it breaks in.
On a somewhat related note, one of the worst mistakes I’ve made in jacket buying (especially custom) is taking pronouncements about which lengths are...
I agree with your general point but lamb skin goes too far in the other direction—its merits as a garment leather are lost with the structure of a shoe, and as a luxurious appearance goes they do not compare to calf.
I don’t have a prejudice against fashion makers per se; rather I would agree...
I had to send my jacket in as well, however the 618 already has the snaps for attaching it so they sell a 618 collar off the rack. So in his case he'd just have to ask for that one except in real fur.
Very very weird choice for "middle ground". I wouldn't say they're on the affordable side of the spectrum at all; they're slightly cheaper than Aero, and even that is only because they know people aren't going to buy Aero knockoffs for Aero's price.
Anyway, SB will do the same level of...
I genuinely think they chose lambskin because it will fall apart.
It's extremely fragile. This can be a good trait for it in jackets, where the softness lets it drape like fabric, but it would be completely undesirable for shoes.
Here's mine!
Since the 618 already has the collar snaps, you won't even have to send them the jacket like I did. You just tell the repairs department you want a real mouton collar for a size 50 brown 618; they'll make one and send it to you. Fairly priced, as is everything from their repair...
I think it would work perfectly well within business casual, however I hate business casual and wish it did not exist. It is the ugliest possible middle ground. So bringing in a leather jacket with a wool or knit tie, etc, would actually make it a much more interesting look.
I actually often wear a Perfecto in this weather, sometimes with a sweater underneath, though I haven't been able to take off my 1940s fur-lined trench this week!
Personally I don't like the snap; I understand why motorcyclists want it, but for me I'd rather have the belt done up, or hanging...
Edmund Church M-69F. Perhaps the most over-the-top coat I’ve handled. Beautiful, substantial goatskin shell, massive mouton collar, full alpaca fur lining (with a layer of rayon on top of the top half for getting the sleeves on more easily). Reinforced stitching throughout and extra leather at...
I'm pretty sure of it. The Mulholland is the go-to among FW jackets because it isn't as out there are some of the other designs yet it isn't a "middle aged white man jacket" which is the reputation cafe racers have. (All cafe racers are pretty ugly anyway so I can't blame them for this, even...
