That too, but the .455 is actually a better firearm, in terms of shootability, craftsmanship and stopping power.
Shootability: Keeping track of your brass is a snap, and handloading is absolutely possible and preferable. Google "glock kaboom" before you shoot anything but factory fresh ammo...
Sorry. To put those bullet hoses in the same category with a brilliant example of Golden Age craftsmanship like a Krag to me is like comparing an $10 Times with a classic Hamilton wristwatch, or a baseball cap with a well-made Open Road, or.... Well, you get the picture.
Golden Era firearms...
Glen Gray Campdraft pictured in the other thread... One of these days, I'm going to put a proper Cattleman Bash on the Campdraft.
Most annoying thing about OR's: the uninitiated insist on calling 'em 'cowboy' hats.
The cattle hands wear cowboy hats.
The cattle OWNERS wear Open Roads.
There ya go. Only thing I don't like about the CD is it has a significantly taller crown than the Open Road does; I was led to believe the CD is an OR clone, and this is NOT the case. Maybe the CD will not look so freakishly large on my head once I have a proper cattleman bash on 'er like the...
I fly regularly on orders with the US Navy Reserve, and there's a lot to be said for CERTAIN airlines not IMHO being appreciative of passengers; some view passengers as an inconvient commodity to be processed as rapidly as possible, while others are more passenger-friendly. One commonality...
It's medium gray and was on Epay. I will have to rebash it as I actually LIKE a cattleman crease with a snap brim, but I will post pix once I get it. Can I post a link tot he now-defunct Epay auction?

Before anything else, get checked out by your medico of choice. If you have a recent (i.e. 180 days old or newer) physical, this isn't quite so important.
Stretch thoroughly.
10 minutes of strength building (setups, pushups, some weight training)
20 minutes of cardio training (RUNNING or...

That would be sufficient to get to France and book passage back to the Land Of The Free.
Will post more when I get home, but I now live in Oak Ridge, TN. Oak Ridge is called "The Secret City" because 1/3 of the Manhattan Project happened at home.
Brief history, which will make my vintage home make more sense:
In mid-1942, the US Government seized several thousand acres of...
Watched "The Shootist" again the other night. The Duke went out at the top of his game; the other actors, writers and production were all top grade, as well. Not sure if you all are aware of this but almost ALL of the scenes in The Shootist where the Duke is showing physical weakness are not...
There ya go. And while .45ACP will work in revolvers, .45AR is much more accurate. I have always thought that this was due to the inconsistent headspacing allowed by the moon clips.
FL-style theme music:

Emergency! (Didja know Jack Webb was a jazz fan?)
Bewitched
I Dream Of Jeannie
The Donna Reed Show (first theme, not the later one)
The Lawrence Welk Show
I got a Smith and Wesson M1917 Brazilian Contract recently for under $400 and as N frame Smiths are almost everything-proof, this would make a decent carry piece if I could find ready made .45 Auto Rim shells with some sort of expanding bullet.
To Appamattox: Nine April Days, 1865
I have always been a Burke Davis fan. Marine!, They Called Him Stonewall, Gray Fox and a scad of others are fascinating reading. His account of the United States troops occupying Richmond is POWERFUL stuff.
Sad (but a bit late) news: LT John Finn, the last surviving Pearl Harbor Medal of Honor recipient and thus far the only Aviation Ordinanceman (he was a Chief Petty Officer on 7 December 1941) to be awarded the Medal, passed on on 27 May. Citation follows:
For extraordinary heroism...
Been off a while, but I'm back... Really enjoying The Pacific; read With The Old Breed as a History major undergrad at UTK, and they have done pretty fair by Sledge. I must say, though, that it was hard to watch when they brought Ack Ack back down the hill. Reminded me of when they brought what...
