First post on this thread and want to say a BIG thank you to Johnson Leathers of San Francisco for the superb bomber jacket they made for me. Seal brown chrome tanned goat with finish. Cotton drill lining, satin sleeves, snap sleeve closure.
Got it, thank you. I noticed the feeling of that drape when I tried on a naked cow at JL and that was very pleasant to wear. I'll probably opt for a brown cxl steer next time then.
Thank you, I'm not familiar with Vicenza but I think I get what you mean. Is it steer or horse? Seriously thinking of getting a brown cal for my next JL or aero jacket. Thanks
20 years is a long ways away, hope I can keep that jacket long enough. I was recently breaking in an aero 50s half belt (wore daily for 5 months, slept in it too at times) but someone broke into my car which was a bummer
Thanks I'll ask again, Damon told me the black ripstop is slightly heavier than the heavy satin they carry. Is silk too fragile for a liner for a horse hide jacket?
Is this your natural cxl?
Thank you. I only have worn leather jackets with cotton drill/cotton/silk so I'm fairly limited with experience. I should've tried lots of jackets when I was last in the store
Thanks for the great info again. Yep I'm definitely liking the look of the jacket that you had.
I sent a message to the seller and hope to get a deal done.
Thanks for the heads up, I looked it up and hope I can get anywhere near that wear. I've a few jackets on order so i won't be dedicate all my time with one jacket.
That is crazy nice but probably too much for me but I'll try a heavy steerhide for my next project jacket.
I requested ripstop...
Thank you, it won't be ready until November. It's takes after the mulholland and highwayman with a practical 2 way main zipper and chest zipper placement. Hope it turn out well, it's JL so I'm sure it will be.
The only thing I'm unsure is the lining. I picked black ripstop, I'm sure it will...
