    Talks of "Christine" remake

My two favourites from the soundtrack were "Not Fade Away" by Buddy Holly and "Bony Moronie" by Larry Williams. :) I especially like the way the latter sounded over the old car radio.

The Closet Door is Open - Lavender Ladies & Gents of the Golden Age of Hollywood

I've read that too - Handsome couple :) I believe it more than the rumour about he and Howard Hughes.

Which style of makeup should i go for.

Second emotion! You could probably go for 40's aswell - Natural brows, long eyelashes, rosy glow. :) (PS. I'm jealous, thats quite an opportunity!)

What's on Top - Bras, panties, garter belts, slips, & stockings

I know about modern lingerie from my stint as a salesgirl at La Senza - There was a style to suit every shape. When I ordered the bra I, I didn't think I'd have this problem being a D cup... Better start experimenting with falsies lol

Does wearing vintage Get you noticed by the opposite sex?

I offer a quotation from The Seven Year Itch: "Your imagination! You think every girl's a dope. You think a girl goes to a party and there's some guy in a fancy striped vest strutting around giving you that I'm-so-handsome-you-can't-resist-me look. From this she's supposed to fall flat...

    Vintage Handbags Anyone?

Welcome to the Lounge! If you run a search, you'll most likely find threads you can add to, or that already contain the information you want. Here are a few about purses: http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?12095-Everyday-Bags&highlight=handbags...

Do Ladies notice a Man's shoes?

I don't usually notice the soles of shoes either, but if I did, I would think leather soles showed an acute attention to detail. :) My two cents on shorts: I don't mind them in casual settings, as long as they hit the knee, are solid coloured, and are worn with smart sandals (no flip flops)...

    Unpopular movie opinions...

Hah! I liked her as the frumpy shrew in A Patch of Blue, she played it with real method lol

    Talks of "Christine" remake

The Shining comes to mind also. Stephen King was unhappy with the original film translation (that bore little resemblance to the book), inspiring the 1997 TV mini-series, which was pretty spot on! I wondered about that - It would have been too expensive for them to make replicas I imagine...

    Unpopular movie opinions...

I should have written that better - It was bad to me. Probably one of the most unpopular opinions to see this thread :embarassed: I was in high school when Napoleon came out. For an entire year, and well into the next, everything you said to someone was responded to with a line from the...

Does vintage clothing attract a rude/violent response?

I thought so :D Thanks dear! You know what I think it is? Someone who is different, or calls attention to themselves (though inadvertently) becomes something like public property. Therefore, its okay to give them the finger, bump them on the shoulder, swear at them, and the like. I used to...

    Talks of "Christine" remake

You're right! The film, I thought, created more sympathy for poor Darnell when he was bumped off. (Why he sat down in a smoking, burnt car is a mystery to me.) I did watch it again today, and it occurred to me that Christine was 21 years old in 1978, when everything took place. That means...

Does vintage clothing attract a rude/violent response?

I'm with you there. I spent a year away from the Lounge, and I was beginning to feel like I was the only one in the world who felt an affinity for the past. Being here reminds me that y'all do exist, even if we don't know each other face to face :) In Arizona? Really?! There is a huge...

I like this thread too - My lips are sealed! :)

What's on Top - Bras, panties, garter belts, slips, & stockings

Thanks! Glad to know I'm not the only one. :) I'm wondering if those models for Secrets in Lace have any help, because they fill them out attractively given their *ahem* generous proportions.

Does vintage clothing attract a rude/violent response?

The inappropriate (and in many of these cases, disgusting) behaviour of other people shouldn't be validated with a response, never mind lowering ourselves to that level by responding with any kind of violence! If someone around you is being an idiot, ignore them. They want negative attention...

What's on Top - Bras, panties, garter belts, slips, & stockings

I need to complain about my bullet bra. I have this one from Secrets in Lace, and although its the correct size, I don't fill it out properly (and I'm a busty girl.) Even with pads, it doesn't look or feel right. Maybe I'm not built for them... Anybody else have this problem?

Show us your vintage knitting and crochet!

That's very good! My mother is a Fair Isle designer, and can knit the most complicated patterns - I'm hopeless. I knit with 2 colours and am proud of myself lol

    Talks of "Christine" remake

Beautifully put. Modern films don't have the appeal of classic cinema anymore. You go to see a new movie, and you may laugh, or be scared. You may even recommend it to your friends. But you won't be transfixed by the actors, or moved by the storyline. You won't want to watch it again and...
